Adrestia - Blueprint Access System

Access to the EVE University Blueprint Library is now available at Adrestia (our Engineering Complex in our HQ system of Slays). These blueprints of ships, which include Tech-1 ship hulls up to battleships, industrials, and mining barges, are available for student use with restrictions as detailed below. (Additional blueprint types may be added at a later date.)

    Allowed Personal Uses:

Copying - Students are free to create BPCs (blueprint copies) of these blueprints for their own use.

    Helping the Blueprint Access System:

Research - Students may "donate research time" to the system by adding Material Efficiency or Time Efficiency research to any blueprint that isn't already at the maximum value(s). Performing this research will enhance the BPO so that future copies made by students will have the increased efficiency levels.

    Rules and Restrictions:

Do Not Manufacture - Use blueprint originals only for creating blueprint copies, and then you may manufacture from those copies.

Deliver Copy Jobs to the Alpha Hangar - Do not deliver copy jobs back to the Industry Hangar, or you will not be able to take your copies.

Deliver Jobs ASAP - Deliver your completed jobs as soon as you can. Blueprints are still unusable by others until you deliver your job for which they are used. Try to deliver your job within 24 hours of its completion. (If a job remains undelivered for unreasonably long, then one of the Logistics Division Staff may deliver it and then contract your copies to you. You will have to pay the contract fee to accept the contract and recover your blueprints.)

Do Not Deliver Jobs Owned By Others - Delivering someone else's job and taking their BPCs is considered Corp Theft and will be dealt with accordingly.

Job Duration - Do not perform any jobs that require more than 24 hours to complete. This should still be sufficient for a good set of copies, depending upon your skills. (This also applies to research job unless 1 point of research exceeds the 24 hour limit, in which case apply only that 1 point of research.)

Time Between Jobs - After delivering a job, wait at least the length of that job before starting a new one with that same blueprint. For example, if a job required 8 hours, then after delivery you must wait another 8 hours before starting a new job with that same blueprint, unless there are multiple blueprints of the same item available at that time.

One Blueprint at a Time - Only use one blueprint for one job at a time. After your job is done, you may use a different blueprint immediately, or the same blueprint again after the Time Between Jobs rule limit, above, has been met.

Use Your Personal Wallet - Be sure to not accidentally use a corporate wallet to which you may have access, e.g. Skillbooks Wallet, to pay for your research job.

Do Not Add Blueprints to the Industry Hangar - If you wish to donate additional blueprints, then follow the standard donation rules. Do NOT drop blueprints directly into the Industry Hangar at Adrestia.
----

Any jobs found to break the rules or restrictions may be prematurely terminated, resulting in the loss of time and fees, and possibly materials, for the student. Please report any observed violations of the rules to the Director of Logistics via EVEmail or Forum PM.

All questions, comments, and issues may be posted to this thread, or submitted directly to the Director of Logistics. Updates will be added directly to this first post, and also a new post will be created so that students may be made aware that an update has been posted.

Re: Adrestia - Blueprint Access System

    Instructions:

To access the blueprints, you must have at least the Freshman title (Sophomore and Graduate will also work) and follow these instructions:

1. Dock up at Adrestia.
2. Open your hangar inventory and go to the Corporation Hangars -> Industry hangar.
3. Here you will see the available blueprints and will be able to use them for jobs.

That's it! Just remember to follow the rules detailed in the original post. You may also wish to check blueprints before use to know what level of research has been applied to them.

Re: Adrestia - Blueprint Access System

Frequently Asked Questions (and also Answers):

Q: Why can't I perform jobs longer than 24 hours?
Q: Why must I wait after a job?
Q: Why can I use only 1 blueprint at a time?
A: These are just to be fair and considerate to other students, and allow them to use the blueprints within a reasonable time frame instead of letting individuals keep them busy for up to a month at a time. 24 hours of copy jobs can actually get you quite a good number of runs. For example, you can create BPCs for about 40 runs of frigates, or 20 runs of mining barges, or 16 runs of battlecruisers, or even 12 runs of any battleship, with 24 hours of copy jobs and good skills.

Q: So if we have multiple copies of blueprints for a single item, I can use them continuously?
A: Essentially yes, unless the other copies are also in use. In short, if you've just finished a job with a blueprint, and then you see that two of that blueprint are now available, then you may go ahead and immediately use one of them again instead of waiting for the "time between jobs" rule.

Q: Will more ships be added?
Q: Will other item types be added?
A: We will possibly do this in the future. It depends upon the popularity of and demand for the system. If you would really, really like a certain blueprint to be included, then just let the Director of Logistics know. The more requests for something, then the more strongly it will be considered. (The main considerations are just cost, time, and clutter.)

Q: Will Tech-2 blueprints be added?
A: We are not nearly rich enough to afford Tech-2 blueprint originals of any great value. Or even any of poor value. :)

Q: Doesn't (insert campus name here) already do this?
A: It is possible. The individual campuses may be running their own blueprint programs. That's no reason to not do the same near E-UNI HQ, especially if it adds little additional overhead to running Adrestia in the first place. And, its location makes it reasonably accessible to members from all campuses. Use whichever system/campus/location is most convenient for you.

Q: Is there any restriction on what I can use the BPCs for?
A: Not really, no. Use them to make your own ship to fly yourself, or your own personal fleet, or for giving to your friends or fellow students, or even to sell for a profit. We only ask that if your motives are personal, then try to give students priority for their use who may still be learning EVE manufacturing mechanics. Besides, to make any serious profit you will really want your own blueprints running multiple simultaneous jobs, not this one-BPO-at-a-time limitation.

2017.04.20 - Added rule about delivering jobs as soon as possible.

Re: Adrestia - Blueprint Access System

For those who need more visual instructions on how exactly to make use of the Blueprint Access System to make blueprint copies, allow me to refer you to the HSC BPO Library Guide. The HSC has had a similar service in operation, and LeFleur's visual instructions may be applied to HQ/Adrestia's blueprints.

The only differences are just the rules, listed in the original post above, which may differ slightly between HQ/Adrestia and the various other blueprint systems running at other campuses. When using similar services at other campuses, be sure to always be familiar with and follow their rules.

Re: Adrestia - Blueprint Access System

Hello Turhan,

there are currently a lot of BPCs in the industry hangar as, let alone 21 Cyclone and 21 Noctis BPC. Are these all misplaced BPCs or can they be used for production? I'am currently interested in building me a Covetor and there is one as well.

Best regards
Calan

Re: Adrestia - Blueprint Access System

BPCs accrue there as new users to the BAS accidentally leave their delivery location at the default instead of changing it to Alpha. We typically leave them in the Industry Hangar for a bit to give time for the student to claim it. However, sometimes they simply just take the loss (jobs within the rules are inexpensive) and just make new copies.

If a BPC has been sitting in the hangar for more than a couple of weeks, then it is pretty much considered abandoned and we can do whatever we wish to them. I'll typically collect them all after a month or two, and then when enough have been accumulated then I'll toss them into the Alpha Hangar at HQ where any Freshman or higher student may take it. We will be setting up a better system in the near(-ish) future, but that's the current process-of-minimal-hassle.

With that said, for now if you see a BPC sitting in there for more than a few weeks then feel free to let me know that you'd like to use it.

Re: Adrestia - Blueprint Access System

Hi,

would it be acceptable to give the BPCs to an ooc alt with better skills in order to dabble with some real industry?
