I'm not really sure how viable this fit is, because the only advantage it has against the dual-rep fit is a web and higher resists, but the web doesn't really help that much for an AC/drone boat, and the reps are still less than the dual-rep version.

Infiltrator II x2
I honestly have no idea how viable this is. I've never actually seen anything like it used, but it certainly is fast and can put out quite a bit of dps. Who knows, might work. Fitting an MJFG could maybe be worthwhile, but you should probably never be within 8km of an enemy in this and it would really strain fitting.

In relation to the gas boosting fit I just built one for myself. I am not partial to the micro jumpfield generator because you only have a 6 second to lock delay from decloaking asteros and a slightly under 6 second spool up time so its very close on time. This first fit is just straight up kill the Astero that I made it is pretty in-line with the first listed fit with just some modules/rig swapped around.

In the case of wanting the micro jump field I tweaked my fit as well. I think it comes down to preference of how to setup tank and if you want a DDA. The one thing I would recommend at the very least is fitting the core probe launcher into the open high slot in ALL fit variants for gassing.

Command dessie gas boosters should no longer be a thing because of porpoises, much cheaper and with the ore hold it might save the huffers docking up if rats had been cleared or a large number of sites.

Problem with Porpoise is its big and slow and cant defend itself. The real problem for the do it all gas fleet is frig holes, command destroyer can fit through those while porpoise cannot.

Porpoise was designed to fit through frigate holes. Ship's mass is 4,500,000 and the jump limit for frig holes is 5,000,000. They are decent (when fit properly) in terms of tank and DPS from drones can threaten most small ships that act as cloaky initial tackle.

Ah I never saw that, that is cool. I'll still fly command destroyer for the better pvp capability and agility vs the 10% boost to boosts. I run high end ninja huffing so the ventures never fill in the 20min before spawn. At the sametime being able to boosh your fleet to safety is a nice touch. Gas boosting is a super niche thing anyways though, it would be a specialized porpoise fit as well.

I think it might be worth not doing gas boosters at all or having a sub category/gas page for just gas booster fits because the wiki is main fits and boosting gas huffers with any ship is rarely done.

About the Gas Boosting Magus, adding here a part of a post I wrote today on Reddit.

Can we discuss this and, in case, update the fit on the Wiki? This might actually make sense.

Keep in mind I'm mostly considering WSpace scenarios, and I don't know if the same applies to KSpace gas.

Maths that justifies the choice:
  • Each Prospect mines 2.66 m3/sec (2 * 1.33)
  • Under Porpoise boosts without implants, it mines 3.86 m3/s (4.34 with links)
  • Under Magus boosts without implants, it mines 3.72 m3/s (4.12 with links)
  • Meaning that using the Magus makes you lose 0.14 m3/s per venture without links, or 0.22 with links
  • ...but the Magus itself provides another 2.088 m3/s (2.313 with links) worth of mining due to the gas harvesters on the Magus itself
  • All in all, this means that the Porpoise becomes worth it over the Magus only with ~15/20 Prospects on grid
[*]The key trade-off in this case is the cargo space on the Magus, so feel free to play it risky by making the Magus' tank thinner and add more cargo expansions for maximum antitank fun ;)[/list]

Things to consider/tradeoff
  • Removing shield tank for more cargo
  • Optimizing shield tank a bit better
  • Adding MJFG
In general, I think this is such a specific case that the benefits of fitting a MJFG and/or combat stuff are just not worth it. For sure I wouldn't put a scram and a cap booster like we have in the wiki... As a real edge case, I'd rather say that people could carry PvP mods and a depot in the cargo.

If this is of interest, I can work on a cargo package to add to the fit.

Let me know!

I've recently found a 1.5 years old YouTube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6WVcZQbkz4) about Solo PvP Magus, it looks amazing and I think is worth publishing as nul-sec Solo PvP fit. As far as I can guess the fit, it may look as follow:
Spoiler
[Magus, MWD+MJFG AC SAAR - Solo PvP]

Coreli A-Type Small Armor Repairer

Valkyrie II x2
Warrior II x5

Republic Fleet Phased Plasma S x1000
Zainou 'Gypsy' CPU Management EE-602 x1

Armor repairer blinged to deal with CPU, but also gives a nice repair bonus. The ship itself is expensive, so this justifies blinging another repairer.

Hey E Uni!

The Magus is a ship that's near and dear to my heart. Here's the fit that I use for flying nano gang.
Spoiler
[Magus, Nano Magus]
Drone Damage Amplifier II
IFFA Compact Damage Control
Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Small Ancillary Armor Repairer, Nanite Repair Paste

5MN Quad LiF Restrained Microwarpdrive
Caldari Navy Warp Disruptor
Drone Navigation Computer II
Micro Jump Field Generator

Core Probe Launcher I,Core Scanner Probe I
Skirmish Command Burst II,Interdiction Maneuvers Charge
Skirmish Command Burst II,Rapid Deployment Charge

Small Command Processor I
Small Processor Overclocking Unit I

Valkyrie II x2
Warrior II x8
A few notes:
  • The probe scanner is off-lined and used in a pinch to flee through a fortuitous wormhole when you get camped in a pocket.
  • Drones are to taste, with the basic template of 5 lights and 3 lights + 2 mediums (the max allowed by the Magus' drone bandwidth). I often choose Minmatar for the sheer speed: as this ship plays a support role out-and-out dps is a secondary consideration, and maximizing drone speed is very helpful for the amount you bounce on, off, and around the grid when nanoing. Caldari drones make for a good option too given that kinetic is a versatile damage type.
  • Links can be sort of whatever. Skirmish with Rapid Deployment has obvious utility in a nano gang, and I prefer Interdiction Maneuvers for the other one. An armor link could work but as nano gangs are often thinly tanked and mix-tanked, speed and distance are primarily what are keeping your ship intact.
  • The fit is quite tight on CPU, which is part of the incentive for the Cal Nav point.
This fit has a few benefits for a nanogang:
  • Speed: With the Rapid Deployment link it goes 3535 m/s cold with my skills. With an Overclocker II (which I always carry with me, a cheap way to upgrade your speed 5%) you're around 3700, Midgrade Snakes get you up to 4281 before drugs, etc.
  • Secondary Tackle: The Caldari Navy point goes out to 31 km cold / 36 km hot with links. Between this and your speed you can do a lot of work pointing things on grid.
  • Drone speed: The Drone Navigation Computer is an excellent quality of life mod for speedily deploying/recalling your drones. In practice it boosts your DPS by getting your drones on target as quickly as possible. It is also helpful for applying pressure to tackle: interceptors will often assume they can outrun your drones, and be caught by surprise by Warriors traveling 8190 m/s. Valkyries go 4875 m/s, allowing you to make use of the higher-damaging medium drones more regularly given their increased speed.
  • Damage: The DPS isn't spectacular, but it's the best combination of damage and projection you're going to get on a command destroyer.
  • Links: The speed links are wonderful for a nano gang, especially so if you have a fat kid or two in your group: not-so-speedy cruisers like HACs, Gilas, and T3Cs will thank you, to say nothing of Battleships. Interdiction Maneuvers obviously boost tackle capabilities, but can also help slower larger ships web off tackle by increasing web range. In short, there's a lot of utility here.
  • MJD: Booshes are something that aren't always needed, but when they are, they can make a crucial difference in forcing a fight or isolating targets. The right boosh at the right time will make you a hero.
This ship is a fun Swiss army knife that does enough things well to be useful in a variety of different comps and gang sizes. It favors an active playing style while being forgiving enough in speed, point range, and weapon type (you don't have to worry about tracking with drones) to be somewhat friendly to a new nano pilot. The tank is a bit thin, with the repper being there mostly to buy you time to warp off grid, but that holds true for lots of nano ships, especially those smaller than cruisers. It's become one of my most-used fits and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to fly a command destroyer in a kitey gang.
