Nemesis

Post by Kerodan Alduin »

I started stealth bombers with the Manticore thread, where general stealth bomber issues are discussed. I suggest to focus here specifically on issues unique to the Nemesis.

Here's something I whipped up for a polarized nemesis
Spoiler
[Nemesis, lol]

Ballistic Control System II
Co-Processor II

Warp Disruptor II
Target Painter II
Target Painter II
Sensor Booster II, Scan Resolution Script

Polarized Torpedo Launcher, Caldari Navy Inferno Torpedo
Polarized Torpedo Launcher, Caldari Navy Inferno Torpedo
Polarized Torpedo Launcher, Caldari Navy Inferno Torpedo
Bomb Launcher II
Covert Ops Cloaking Device II

Small Warhead Calefaction Catalyst II
Small Warhead Rigor Catalyst I
I went for a point and not a scram because I thought having people use their MWD to ensure their own destruction plus the target paint flare would be a fun trap to put them in

If you ever get in SCRAM range in a polarized fit, you're dead already. Why a bomb launcher and why in the name of Terra a SeBo?
༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Did someone say "Stealthbomber"? Explosions? And ECM? I'm in! Let's blow shit up! ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ

I'll reiterate the above, and also make a point about these fittings.

First, the intent for the suggestions in this forum are to provide broad-spectrum, flexible fittings for newer players to solo/gang PvP, or standardized fleet fitting for E-UNI events.

Following the above, a polarized torpedo fit is an incredibly niche role that I wouldn't advise any newer player to utilize until they have a ton of hours in Stealth Bombers. Polarized weapons severely limit the engagements you can take, limit fleet composition, and are high risk, minimal reward setups that are reserved for the most limited of situations.

Even if we exclude these points, a bomb launcher and sensor booster on the above fit provides no utility or optimization that compliments polarized launchers.

I don't particularly understand phased muon sensor dampeners as oppose to T2 remote sensor dampeners aside from "it is just so" - it's not an unreasonable ungodly length of time to get Sensor Linking 4 unless there is some predeliction to meta 4 that has no advantage over a t2 variant (I'm thinking fitting or cap issues). If you're happy enough with a four second lock time (which could be enough for them to warp out) then the sebo naturally is useless.

I'm not sure what the issue is with having a bomb launcher when an empty high slot reduces the utility of the nemesis in a situation where you might find the need of a bomb launcher, if you're doing a bombing run correctly then you don't need resists really (and if you're caught you're dead jim anyway).

You spotted a mistake I made - well done. For the T1 fits I actually went for the meta SeBo on purpose expecting that the pilot may not have high enough Weapons Upgrade and/or Sensor Linking skills. I'll go for T2 SeBo in the T2 ship version and leave T1 in the T1 ship in order not to make it too complicated for lower skilled players. Whoever posts the fits can of course change this at their own discretion.

Why is there a point and web on the BL fit? Do they act as hero tackle after the bombing run?

Edit: The point makes sense but just trying to understand the use of web.

I also don't see any value of web: too risky, while TP has tremendous one.

Posted with web replaced by TP.
