Advanced PVE Fit: The Adaptive Invulnerability Field II seems to give better (by a small amount) EHP regen and EHP compared to the one with a Shield Extender instead. After comparing both fits against NPC Serpentis Damage pattern, which gives 55% Thermal and 45% Kinetic split, the shield extender fit in comparison has -37 EHP/s and -4.9k EHP. I haven't checked thoroughly but it appears to be similar when I change the specific resist modules to match the different NPC damage patterns.

It should also have T2 SPRs. It'll preform worse against damage coming from EM/Therm naturally due to the resist profile of T1 shields. To combat this you can of course add more resist modules. I would use specific hardeners over invulns however. The AMPs are just placeholder, you should always carry hardeners and amps for refits when it comes to PVE :)

EDIT: A mid slot layout of 2xLSE, 1 main damage amp, 1 main damage hardener, 1 secondary dmg amp gives the best result.

The funny thing about PvE is, you always know what kind of damage is incoming. So I'd only fit an AIF if I had only 1 slot for hardeners (not going to happen).

I'd rather go for 1 of each hardeners and put a link towards the NPC damage article. So people can read up on how to fit according to their mission. And the free highslot.. whelp. Why not just keep it free and suggest a salvager and have an MTU in the hold? I think I ran with a DLA back when I thought Drakes are the only ship you should be flying, but the bonus control range was barely needed.

The AIF only worked better in the previous case because resists > 3rd shield extender at that point. Choosing between passive vs active for the actual pilot will depend on his cap related skills but at all 5s you can even go 3 active and be cap stable.

As an example, if we take the fit with 2 active modules and replaced the shield extender with a passive resist module of the NPC damage type it yields better EHP.

On a side note the Mark I Shield Power Relays are worse than Type-D ones because it gets the reduced fitting cost at the expense of increased capacitor recharge rate penalty. I think going for meta utility high or choosing another high is better for fitting.

Edit: Just wanted to add that I agree we should use one as an example and just put notes that the resist modules can be replaced to match the NPC damage type. If we take 3 resist mids then we would go with 2 for either the weakest resist (EM for Sansha, Blood Raider) or the highest damage type the NPC puts out (Kinetic for Mordu's Legion accounts for 70%) whichever is skewed the most. The remaining one for secondary damage type. With active modules we'd want to even it out first before getting a second active module of the same damage type.

You should use the T2 SPRs. I'm not quite sure what you mean with the last sentence, there aren't that many usable utility highs.

Last sentence was just about fitting hardeners. The T2 Auto Targeting system takes a lot more CPU than the meta versions and puts the fit over on CPU fitting if we start using active modules.

T2 SPR is better though I reckon we should put in notes that meta Type-D can be used in case the pilot has low cap skills as I'm noticing I'm down to 10 mins cap life with T2 at my skill level :roll:

For PvP, the drake is an unusual ship. It's pretty bad, tbh. Nobody is going to use a HM solo PvP drake because they're just bad. HMs apply worse than HAMs and do less dps, they are for alpha. There's no point having a fleet buffer fit to be honest. This is probably your best bet. And while the second AIF might LOOK good on paper, you need to account for the times that someone will just flat out nuke your cap with neuts, which is very common.

For PvE, I'm fairly certain we can get away with a "1 loadout fits all". If your difference in fits is like one probe launcher and some items being meta'd, then just make one fit. It's like me posting a version of the fit above with a nos instead of a neut. Keep it simple.

I also think that 1 PvE fit is enough.

From PvP fits, speaking with other PvPers, so far only Whites makes sense to me.

@Rashar: why HM and 2 webs? Can't 2 webs work with HAMs? Or if you want to apply at RANGE, why webs at all?

I also would like to post a fleet version. I think armor Brutixes are better for a fleet use, but why to not post a fleet shield version? Maybe somebody will need to complement.
