I would like to see a small gang pvp class. The large Uni blob fleet while efective at keeping out loss ratio in good standing also leads to less pew pew.

well... I don't really know if this is possible, but considering all the new people coming in (like me), would a general class on basic pvp/whatever else is useful common knowlage would be very much appreciated to get us on our feet...

Could we have a rerun of :
General Tactics/Target Calling
From 07 Oct 2007 22:15 to 08 Oct 2007 00:14 (included)
I'll be holding a general tactics and target calling discussion - ie an informal type of class.

General Tactics
Gate Camps
Station Camps
Meeting engagements
Belt engagements
Dealing with Ore Thieves/Can Flippers
Mining protection
Whatever else I think of

Target calling
Priority of targets and recognition of threat levels.
It was run by SB.

I agree with Malache. I'd also like a class on one-on-one PVP as well. Understandably, this is not the way the Uni does PVP, but we will not always be in fleets, and this could prepare students for ever being engaged one-on-one if out ratting or travelling. Troubador's PVP class is excellent, but some practical experience would be nice as well.

Interesting topic.

Anyhoo, noticed in E-Uni public chat one person wanting to join up with E-uni to be griefer/pirate/newbie player killer.

It would be helpful if there is a class on the topic of Grieifing/Piracy/Newbie Player Killing. Why it is wrong, why CCP has rules against it and so forth.

This class should be offered to the newbie players, older ones can use it as a refresher course.

:)

piracy isnt wrong or disallowed, and newbie killing is just lame (but also allowed).

griefing isnt allowed by ccp.

I have heard though that newbie killing via bait cans and similar tactics in starter systems is petitionable as griefing however. But other than that very narrow instance CCP is very lenient on player killing.

Bait canning in starter systms is indeed petitionable, and anyone doing it under the uni banner may expect a swift and pointed "discussion" with the Uni fleet, then to be looking for a new corp.

I don't condone bait-canning in the least, but I don't see how it is against any sort of rules. When you try to loot someone else's can, it pops up a warning telling you that if you loot it, you will be flagged for 15 mins. The only people that don't get the message are people who can't even read.

Saying something is "petitionable" doesn't mean much, because anyone can open a petition for anything... the real issue is if it is something that will get enforced by CCP, which I highly doubt.

id like to see some advanced classes like exploration covering hacking/etc

or small scale or perhaps even solo (dunno if thats even possible) pvp

everyone knows missions but how about cosmos/complex class going over how they work, i havent done them but i heard you could only do them once and thats it? lot of misconceptions about them.

tech 2 ship classes or broken down into stealth bomber class, intercetor, recon. perhaps an intro into those for pilots currently training or looking for a ship to pvp with.

just some ideas of course

I'm in the process of writing a small group / skirmish PvP class. Hopefully I'll find time soon to get it finished and approved.

You're not the first person to mention this and it has been noted. Its good to see students wanting similar classes. I believe we've done these kind of classes before but the demand is fairly limited tbh. We obviously have a cov ops class and I wouldn't be surprised to see a stealth bomber class appearing soon. Classes for 'dictors and intys are also a possibility imho, assuming Beastie can get people in place to teach them.

Maybe that's more guide-material than something to make a course out of, but I'd really like to see an introduction to the many attributes a weapon / ship / drone / whatever can have. Especially, some guidance which ones are important, which are unimportant and which are "it-depends". Maybe with a list of websites where to get more information about items in general, the use of specific attributes and recommendations on when to use which variant of common items (and why).

A stealth bomber would be nice.
