This is with the recordings...make it more clear, the quality of some videos are very bad and sometimes not understandable, for future video's, please record with better quality mics/software/settings.

I completely agree with you, but many times lots of people cannot participate to courses, because of GMT time zones. If we can receive courses on mail,or youtube, then we could learn more and faster.

First Off - The Classes are Awesome ! And Much Thanks To The Teachers!

My ONLY suggestion is to make SURE they are posted to the UNI Calendar... I've missed a few I would have liked to attend. I know I can come to the forums and check... or pour over an in game mail... just the Calendar is especially awesome for me as I save it to my Google Calendar which converts them to my time Zone... and more importantly... shows any RL commitment conflicts!

Anyways... the classes are GREAT!

Thanks:

I'm listening to a recent recording of the exploration class, and the teacher is referencing a slide show with what appears to be quite a few slides. I'm an hour in and he is on at least 55 slides. Is there a way to see the slides?

Also, quite a few of the classes in the library are rather old. Is there a more updated list?

That would be refering to an older, "longer" slidedeck for Exploration classes as far as I can see it. The newer one is the [CORE] Introduction to Exploration with 20 slides. that is publicly availible on the eve uni slideshow viewer.

If you are itnerested in exploration: We have regular "up to date" classes on that and I will be scheduling one of those in the next weeks again. for any questions you have you can also write me an evemail/forummail or just grab me in mumble :)

Is it possible we can have more classes during EU time zones as a lot of classes I see are 02:00 UTC(GMT) which is very late, also I see them mostly at weekends which half of them I can not attend.

I understand the need for more teachers which makes this difficult I just wanted to put this out there.

Some recordings would be nice.
I notice only Adree does that at the moment.

Some of the classes in the in-game calendar are showing 24 hours behind the actual class day and time. This class https://forum.eveuniversity.org/viewtop ... 2&t=113975, this class too https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/EVE_Univ ... _Community. I was hoping to sit in on the ewar class. Any chance this class will be repeated?

What TZ are you in? All classes (should) be shown in Eve (GMT / UTC) time and date. The person hosting also put a note in the class description for people in the US, explaining when it was.

Given the time you posted your comment (01:57 Sunday 11 Aug), I'm guessing you did actually turn up a day late.

I live east coast US. It is now Sunday the 11th at 7:35 am. My post was made yesterday on the 10th. Every class marked American TZ is 1 day off the actual American date.

ADDED: and it seems this board is 1 day off to some TZ's,, could that be the problem?

The forum doesn't display in local time. As can be seen in the bottom-right corner of the forum, it says: "All times are UTC". Which means EVE time, so it follows the game. UTC is the reference used for all listings of time in the Uni; like the forum, calendar, in-game, on Slack, and so on. So whenever you see someone saying e.g. "This thing will happen at time X", then it will most certainly be EVE time (UTC) that they're referring to. :)

If you live in east coast US, you will be... 4 hours behind this, I think? So 'UTC-4' is your timezone. Which means that whenever you see something to take place at a certain time, that event will happen 4 hours earlier for you! This can sometimes be confusing, especially when just crossing over the midnight mark (as that will then be the evening before, for USTZ people), which is something to keep in mind.

Hope this helps! :D

If I may make a suggestion

Post by Alcohol Inspector »

Is it possible to make public classes corp events instead of alliance events? The reason is, some of us export the EVE Uni calendar via the URL to external apps, like Google Calendar. It's very convenient, because it shows it in our timezone right away, along with real life events. But that only works when it's the corp calendar.

Hi, and sorry for the late reply.
I'm not exactly sure what you're asking here. Is it the scope/"event type" of classes posted on the in-game calendar that you want set to 'Corp' (with a green icon) instead of 'Alliance' (with a deep-blue icon), because you're worried they might otherwise not appear on the web calendar/events feed out of game?

If so, then let me assure you that this doesn't matter. ALL public classes will also show up on the web calendar, as well as in the iCal Calendar Feed for it, since those get their information from the in-game one through ESI! :D
There are, however, ways to deliberately block an event from being seen on these public, out-of-game listings, but those are generally reserved for events with some form of 'opsec' inherent to them, and should not be the case for public classes.

That said; if you DO happen to find a class that is scheduled on the in-game calendar but doesn't show up on the URLs, then please get in touch with someone in Teaching Management so that we can fix it ASAP! :)
Otherwise, if it is in the feed but you can't get it working with some external app (that supports iCal) for some reason, then the problem likely lies somewhere else than the Uni calendar I think. Do you have any examples of this, or other details for it happening? :?

Quoting this comment, I missed out on some really interesting classes due to my timezone, most of them would have been in the middle of the night for me.

Additionally I was thinking that it would be really nice to have a portal of some sort, reserved to uni-members, where recordings and class related material is stored for fruition.
To this end it comes to my mind that a platform like Microsoft Teams allows for automatic recordings of sessions, which could come in handy!
