[CLASS] Intro to the Null-Sec Community | Next class: Tuesday 15 November| 1900 EVE Time

Post by Mosq »

This class is aimed at Unistas who recently came to, and those who are planning to come to, the Null-Sec Community (PC9 pocket). Of course anyone not fitting that description is most welcome to attend as well. The class material has been updated in the past week to make sure it's accurate.

This class covers basic information about the Nullsec community and provides links for further reading if you'd so please.

We will cover:

- What is Null-Security space? What makes it different from LS/HS?
- What is the EVE University Null-Sec Community?
- PvP
- Ratting & Exploration
- Mining & Industry

Please be advised that some topics we touch upon have entire classes on their own. We will not do a deepdive into the listed topics.

Instructor: Mosq
When: Tuesday 15 November 19:00 EVE Time
Where: Mumble (audio) and Discord (streaming); you will need to use both to get the full class.
Duration: 1 1/2 hour scheduled

Student requirements:
  • Mumble registration and access: make sure you have Mumble sorted out and operational well before the class begins. Use this page for set-up.
  • Access to the EVE Uni Discord (slide presentation will occur in a Discord classroom, and Discord will be the main channel for text questions)
This class is a lecture followed by Q&A, delivered in Mumble, with the slides delivered on the EVE University Discord and questions taken in the relevant Discord channel. There is no practical component or need to undock. We recommend not doing anything risky or attention-intensive in-game while listening!

The aim is to schedule this class regularly, and starting by doing 4-5 classes in rather quick succession to catch up, afterwhich the frequency will go down.

Scheduled classes:
Tuesday 15 November 1900

Previous classes:
Friday 26 August
Monday 5 September
Sunday 11 September
Tuesday 13 September
Tuesday 27 September
Tuesday 11 October
Sunday 30 October

Thank you for running the class. I found it to be a good overview of the different relevant topics, and I do feel a bit more home in NSC now.

Looking forward to this - I've lived in other corp's null space (indy, PI, mining, and defense, of course), but I would like to be part of a more formal group. Thanks for taking time to run a class!

Any chance of getting one of these during the week, or getting a recording of the class, or a copy of the presentation material?
I'm going to/have missed both of the October sessions, and am in the midst of a move to NSC. The November session feels a bit far off and with the Nullsec section of the forums being archived I'm not certain what is still accurate and/or what is essential to participate in NSC.

Sorry for the late response, I'll see if I can schedule an extra one in the upcoming week. Are the times these usually are scheduled 'ok' (around 1900 EVE time)?

Yep, 1900ish EVE time is typically good. Thankfully it seems I can attend at least part of today's class, but wouldn't mind attending a repeat.
