[COMPLETE] Damage | Tuesday 19 July | 18:00 EVE Time

Post by Uryence »

Many weapons in EVE have partially- or fully-selectable damage: projectile turrets, missile launchers, drones, bombs, and smartbombs, for instance. But how do you pick which kind of damage to fire at someone? Since the topic has come up in fleets and at Fight Club a few times, let's chat through the basics of damage selection. Though we will briefly note some PvE implications, this class will be primarily focused on PvP.

Instructor: Uryence
When: Tuesday 19 July, 18:00 EVE Time
Where: Classroom Alpha on Discord (slides), and Classroom Alpha on the Mumble server (audio)
Duration: 90 minutes scheduled; probably less than this, depending on the Q&A—you certainly won't have to listen to me drone on forever!

This class covers the following topics:
  • The damage spectrum
  • Damage resistances and resistance mechanics
  • T1 damage resistances and resistance holes
  • T2 damage resistances and resistance holes
  • Times when it doesn't matter after all
  • Q&A
Student requirements:
  • Access to the public parts of Uni Discord
  • Access to Mumble
Additional information:
This class is primarily a lecture and discussion. There is no practical component or need to undock. We recommend not doing anything risky or attention-intensive in-game while listening!
