[COMPLETE] Overheating | 23 May | 20:00 EVE Time

Post by Uryence »

Overheating is a great way to get more performance out of your ship, and it can make a crucial difference in PvP and high-stakes PvE. This class will introduce the topic, explain how to use overheating, and some basic techniques to overheat efficiently and effectively.

Instructor: Uryence
When: Monday 23 May, 20:00 EVE Time
Where: Mumble (audio) and Discord (slides, gameplay streaming); you will need to use both to get the full class
Note that due to changes in our auth system, this will be on the general, normal Uni Mumble, not the old public server!
Duration: 2 hours scheduled; probably less than this, depending on the Q&A—you won't have to listen to me drone on for 120 minutes!

This class covers the following topics:
  • Why overheat?
  • Overheating controls
  • Heat damage
  • Ways to limit heat damage
  • Ways to repair heat damage
  • Q&A
Student requirements:
  • Public Mumble registration and access: make sure you have Mumble sorted out and operational well before the class begins. Use this guide for set-up: http://eveuni.org/publicmumble
  • Access to the EVE Uni Discord (slide presentation will occur in a Discord classroom, and Discord will be the main channel for text questions)
Additional information:
This class is a lecture with some streamed gameplay demonstrations, delivered in public Mumble, with the slides and streaming gameplay delivered on the EVE University Discord and questions taken in the relevant Discord channel. There is no practical component or need to undock. We recommend not doing anything risky or attention-intensive in-game while listening!

Note to students: With the implementation of Alliance Auth as the backbone of Uni services - Uni's Mumble services have consolidated to a single server!

Classes will now occur on the single Mumble server, rather than the separate Public Mumble.

For guidance on signing up for Alliance Auth and accessing the Mumble Classrooms, please see https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Mumble
