This is a basic introduction to fleets, followed by practical flying around in a fleet. This is intended for those who have never been in a fleet and want to learn the basics while we are at peace. Flying with other people is the most fun I have in EVE and learning how to get involved in this is a great start to having a lot of good times.

When: Tuesday August 4th, 02:00 EVE Time. That is Monday night in North America!
Where: Mumble and Class (EVE Uni)
Duration: 1.5 hours

Topics Covered:
  • How to find and join a fleet
  • What sorts of fleets you might join
  • How does it actually work?
  • Commands the Fleet Commander (FC) will give and what you should do about them.
  • Then, we form up in frigates and go for a short trip to try out the whole thing! We are not planning to fight anything, this is a basic groundwork for combat fleets you might want to join in the future.
  • Q&A
Student requirements:
  • Public Mumble registration and access - make sure you have Mumble sorted out and operational well before the class begins. Use this guide for set-up:
  • Access to the Class (EVE Uni) in-game chat channel
  • You will need a frigate. Any frigate. And you should be docked up in Amygnon if you wish to join the practical.
Additional information: This class starts with a lecture, delivered in public Mumble and the Class (EVE Uni) channel, followed by a short practical roam. If you want to drop out after the lecture, no problem. You will miss the fun, but you will have the theory.

This is the perfect class for brand new players. And I am a new teacher, so this is going to be a match made in heaven! See you there.
