[CLASS] 2017.05.24 01:00 DSCAN 101

Image

This is a class on the function and uses of the Directional scanner - often called the "d-scan". There is a large amount of information stored in the scanner, and it can be overwhelming if you don't know what your looking at. The d-scanner has a wide variety of uses that can be used even by total beginners. This class teaches the fundamentals of using this tool in a format easily understandable by the newest of EVE players.

The d-scanner will be your best friend while you're in New Eden. Come learn how to use it properly!

When: Wednesday, 24 May 2017, 01:00 EVE Time
Where: Public Mumble and Lecture.E-UNI
Duration: 1 - 2 hours (lecture followed by practical)

Topics Covered:
  • What is the D-scanner?
  • Setup
  • Map
  • Range
  • Angle
  • Uses
  • Practical Exercises!!!
  • Q&A

Student requirements:
  • PUBLIC Mumble registration and access - make sure you have Mumble sorted out and operational well before the class begins. Use this guide for set-up: http://eveuni.org/publicmumble
  • Access to the Lecture.E-UNI in-game chat channel
  • Location: Docked up somewhere safe for the lecture; the practical will take place at the Uni's HighSec Campus HQ (Amygnon VIII - Moon 5 - X-Sense Reprocessing Facility), so I recommend you dock up in Amy.
  • Any ship you can afford to lose. Suggested ships include any T1 Frigate from the Newbie Doctrine or even a Rookie ship. Even a pod has access to the d-scanner, although I don't recommend flying in just a pod!
  • You should have your Overview set to the E-Uni Standard Overview if you haven't done so already. See the UniWiki Overview Guide for instructions on setting up your Overview.

Additional information: This class consists of a long in-space practical component. The "lecture" portion of the class will be given simultaneously with the practical.
