Question about exploring options in EVE

Hi! I was wondering before getting accepted into EVE-U, are the in game tutorials good for learning about the hauling and mining side of EVE? Or are there offline resources that are more useful for a career path in hauling or mining?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Question about exploring options in EVE

The tutorials are valuable if for no other reason than you get free ships by running them. The Uni Wiki has good articles on hauling, and in the Uni, you can get first hand knowledge from members that have been learned by individual experience. That kind of information doesn't always make it into tutorial information.

Re: Question about exploring options in EVE

ALL of the tutorials are a very good idea to do, just to get a taste of what the activities are like.

ALL of the tutorials, also only broach the surface of what the careers actually are.

I'd recommend exploring through the Uni Wiki on topics of interest. And both before joining, and after, trying a few things out. Hop between campuses, try out different events, see what sticks to you!

And if you are a new character eligible for the Uni mentor program, once you join - DO IT. Nothing like having an experienced player give you some hands on, guided experience.
