locator agents?

Does anyone have experience with them? Are they useful, if not effective, at all? (I do know wa they do, just wondering if anyone have used them effectively)
Wiki Locator Agents
They're very useful if you want to check if someone is online and where they happen to be. I used it a number of times in the last war against WeR4 with their known players to attempt to track them down.
