It's important to note here that the incursion fits for Nightmare using MWD are only dominant because of the prevalence of X-Type MWDs with 0% cap penalty. Without deadspace cap transfers the relatively minor amount of support for ABs in incursions would be far greater. Every time the incursion visits a high sec island the fates actually realign and the vast majority of NM pilots end up with AB on their budget Island ships, go figure.

The wiki has never intended it's fitting advice to apply to situations where excessive amounts of ISK are necessary to make a fitting style viable; sometimes people take this mentality a bit to far I fear, but in general it isn't unreasonable.

The fact is that MWD only outperforms AB, not just in niche PVE circumstances, but rather in niche PVE circumstances IF the average participants are willing to fully bling their entire fits. Outside of X-Type MWDs, the cap penalty just hurts the ship too much.
