I think we can safely bin all the original fits. They don't have any rigs, and a deadspace T1 logi frig is a silly idea now that the T2 logi frigs exist.
The AB one can be made cap stable without booster and with T2 reppers, that's a tight fit though:
Code: Select all
[Inquisitor, FD: AB]
IFFA Compact Damage Control
400mm Rolled Tungsten Compact Plates
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II

The MWD one didn't turn out to be quite as silly an idea as I thought it would be, but it does still require 2 fitting rigs. Again a tight fit at All V:
Code: Select all
[Inquisitor, FD: MWD]
IFFA Compact Damage Control
400mm Rolled Tungsten Compact Plates
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
5MN Quad LiF Restrained Microwarpdrive
Small Capacitor Booster II, Navy Cap Booster 400
Small Solace Scoped Remote Armor Repairer
Small Solace Scoped Remote Armor Repairer
Small Solace Scoped Remote Armor Repairer
Small Ancillary Current Router I
Small Processor Overclocking Unit I
Small Anti-Explosive Pump I
I'd personally say leave this one out, and put the AB and Frozen's Alpaca one in.

We should add a note about the benefit of DS reppers tho. Because new players can use them and they are in fact quite cheap. At least cheaper than 1 PLEX for T2 logi.

Yes, Coreli A-Type Small Armor Reppers are only 5m each, and yes they are excellent on Deacons. No they should not be even slightly mentioned in the context of T1 logi. Bad Neonen. Bad.

But.. but... no seriously, they are 5m each. And? It's still a matter of "I can use them and actually rep SOMETHING" vs. "I can use them and be a floating *insert insult here*".
Yes, 5m is a bit more than average for a newbro.... but come on. They are a legit pick.
It's not like you are fitting officer modules on a T1 frig.

I can't believe I have to provide justification for not putting deadspace reppers on a T1 frigate :
- You're suggesting 15m ISK of kit on a 500k hull. Even for a 30% increase in reps that's a silly idea. particularly as newbros shouldn't spend that
- Setting the example of putting deadspace modules on cheap ships is a bad example to newbros with no experience or context. We've all seen the ALOD killmails.
- I don't want newbros buying up all the A-Types - the price would go up and then I wouldn't be able to put them on my Deacon
Edit: I'm not saying that it's not a good idea (although I think that), I'm saying that it's not a good idea to put up a standard fit for newbros.

I never said they should be in the standard fit, just have them in the notes or something. But I agree on the price part.
As they are a pricy but valid OPTION. Not a good one but hey.
Then again, we want to make basic fits. Screw it, throw them out. :p

Alright, next stage time.
- What would applications for the MWD fit be? When would you prefer it over the AB variant?
- Do those applications justify including it?
- What micro-adjustments could you think of to the fits above that would make them a teeny bit better?
- What are important notes (bullet points) you would include which each of these fits?

We do need an MWD fit, somebody please post or later I will pull the one used by Breeze. Possible use: logy for armor tank frigates/destroyers either T1 or T2. For instance supporting Golden Punishers (see Breeze's fleets).

I've tweaked our MWD Inquisitor by replacing the explosive rig with a thermal rig. The reasoning behind this change is that (1) thermal is the most used damage type in the game, (2) thermal is the most heavy hitting damage type in the game, and (3) the current small-sized ship meta favors thermal-dealing fleet comps.

The thermal vs. explosive argument and swapping resists is a dangerous idea. The problem is if you start patching the primary incoming damage type all the time and leaving a giant explosive hole as these fits propagate the damage meta will change to explosive.
For advanced fleet strategy I can see where swapping to specialized resists can help, but for noob friendly general use fits patching the resist hole is better in my opinion. It exemplifies better the basic fitting concepts and avoids having to have extraneous explanations on more advanced fleet fitting ideas.
