Pyfa profiles for low SP fitting

I often get asked what skill levels we should use to consider a fit to be "low SP friendly". Here's important ones:

Starting Character - This is the profile of a starting character taken from the wiki. Note, it is the minimum subset, so a starting character will have a few more skills depending on race.

Q: How to add a new Pyfa profile?

4. Select/highlight the entire relevant skill list from the top-level post in this thread, and Copy it.

5. In the PyFA Character Editor, click the 'Import Skills from Clipboard' option at the bottom right.

6. Click 'Save'.

Congratulations, you can now select this training level with the 'Character' selection at the top-right of the main PyFA window! :D

Please lemme know if I missed anything, I just went thru the wiki and did it all by hand so mistakes are likely. Hopefully others are in a similar position to me in wanting to stay alpha but looking forward to potential future ships and this should help them see what's explicitly viable or omega-locked, whether directly by skills or simply by not quite meeting the fitting reqs (eg, the 4% powergrid reduction for weapons that you miss out on by only being able to skill rank 3 of Advanced weapon ups.

So, there's an easier way to do this. Try going into the PYFA character editor and copy (the button with the two documents on top of each other) the All 5 character. Name it something like "Max Alpha" or whatever makes sense. In the Skills frame of this window, there's a drop down which defaults to Omega Clone. Click on it and change it to Alpha Clone. Click OK. Now, PYFA will automatically treat it as an Alpha Clone and adjust the skills as appropriate.

If you open a fit that requires Omega skills and switch betweeen "All 5" and "Max Alpha", you'll notice that your EHP, Fitting, Damage, and/or Missing Skills will change. And now, you don't need to individually manage every single skill and potentially forget or mistakenly add extra skills. The other benefit is that PYFA will clearly mark it as an Alpha character.

So, if you're combining this with determining skill plans, some skills may be out of your reach due to overall skill point limits that Alpha Clones have.

Good to know! I didn't realize it'd adjust skills down for alphas, because it seemed like it let me overskill things when I was using just the alpha setting. Regardless, that makes it a lot easier. Thanks for the tip!

And yeah, I was more just using it to make sure things I was planning for far in the future were possible.
It is possible to get all that by buying alpha injectors though, and injecting above 5m sp, right? It's just that alphas stop passively gaining SP at 5m.
(Regardless, I'll probably sub when I hit that point, but for posterity)

Alpha Clones have a max injectable cap of 20.5 million skill points. https://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Clone_st ... pha_clones

Some things will always be out of reach, even if you stick to alpha-capable fits/activities, simply because you cannot get enough skill points.

Some things will always be out of reach, even if you stick to alpha-capable fits/activities, simply because you cannot get enough skill points.
That 20.5 million SP "cap", is the total of the Alpha skill set. (Side Note - according to the wiki, it's actually less than 20.5 million at this time - unless the wiki is missing a few skills - but I know some Drone skills were removed from the Alpha set).


There isn't actually an injectable SP cap for alphas - there's just a limit to the skills in the Alpha set - all of which an Alpha character could train, with enough injectors.

Just in case someone very new to PyFA isn't sure on the actual process of adding a character profile with these skill levels:

1. On the top toolbar, select Editors > Character Editor

2. Select 'New Character' to the right of the selection drop-down at the top of the panel, and enter a name such as 'Frigate DD Basic'

3. Select 'Omega Clone', or if you wish to confirm an Alpha can (theoretically) fly your fit you can set 'Alpha Clone'.

4. Select/highlight the entire relevant skill list from the top-level post in this thread, and Copy it.

5. In the PyFA Character Editor, click the 'Import Skills from Clipboard' option at the bottom right.

6. Click 'Save'.

Congratulations, you can now select this training level with the 'Character' selection at the top-right of the main PyFA window! :D
