Due to the shared diminishing returns between the Signal Distortion Amps and the Particle Dispersion Augmentors, the fourth module of the type is only 27% effective and only results in a .2 increase to jam strength.

There are 2 solutions: the rig can be dropped for a targeting, or trimark rig. Or better yet because of the ample fitting left one of the signal distortion amps could be dropped for a second 1600mm plate increasing EHP by another 8k. There are also other options with the low slot/rig like a signal amplifier or energized adaptive nano plating.

Also in relation to cap stability, the fit is stable as a jamming platform with only pulsing the prop and not running high slots. On this kind of fit you would not be running everything flat out.

I would recommend looking through the killboards for scorpions as the meta seems to no longer involve the auto-targeter. The highslot now also tend towards Rapid Lights(anti-frig) or Rapid Heavies(anti-cruiser). There are also some dual prop, high tank, and high dps variants floating around.

The above loss is a good example of something that fits the meta better. There's no point using Scorpions if you're going for max range, align-tanked jams - you would be much better off using a Falcon. I'd personally go with RHMLs, a heavy neut for cruelty to undersized ships, and maybe an MJD over the second Gallente jam. (You don't need a cap booster for this kind of Scorpion; you'll have either Guardians or Apostles on grid for all reasonable uses of heavy jam battleships.)

There's also a lovely trollish solo fit, best typified by Red Kardia, which uses a bonused burst jammer and the other 7 mids for tackle and tank. You can do a cheaper double XLASB fit as well. Either guns, torps, or RHMLs work well; swap mids out depending on what best helps you to apply. Probably wouldn't put it on the wiki though.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I've trawled zkillboard and picked out a common theme for each slot. See what you think.

Unfortunately, what you've accomplished by "pick[ing] out a common theme" is making a fit that's worse at each different role than a properly dedicated fit.

The BCS is not good for fleet jamming fits, because the Scorpion already has bad tank for a battleship and needs all lows dedicated to tank. The utility neut is okay for that role, but the sensor booster and Multispectral ECM are taking slots that should go to additional Radar ECMs. (This is because most armor brawler fits expect to need to jam either Guardians or a carrier's worth of fighters, which is why you start by carrying extra Radar ECMs, then have a depot and other jams in your cargo for potential refits.)

A neut/RHML setup is characteristic of solo play (you shut down the tank/prop of something small, then RHML it to death), but a solo or even a small gang Scorpion would typically have shield tank, DPS, and (if solo) tackle mids.

I lost one of our old Dragonslayer Scorpions a long time ago, when I was just a newbie and I flew the Scorpion because I only had Caldari battleships and battleship weapons trained (from "leveling up my Raven" in a brief career as highsec scrub). It's pretty close to the standard fleet fit, although the nos is bad and everything should be T2. I'd go with a heavy neut just in case of needing to haze tackle in this kind of fit.

Hi Raido,

I'm a noob at fitting so thanks for the advice. I notice you've fitted mostly T1's for this this ship. When I'm suggesting fits in the future should I match the ship tech level with the weapons even if they can fit higher?

Apart from preferring Radar and T1's I wasn't a mile off with my suggestion by the look of it so there's some hope for me. :D

Cheers,
Avrin.

In general, you always want to make sure your fit is as focused as possible on the specific role you're trying to fill. Hope this helps when you design your own fits in the future!

That's pretty reasonable. Note that in most cases the Restrained MWD is better than the T2 MWD and that some battleship fleets would have you refit one of the ECMs to a Large MJD.

Only some, why to not always fit LMJD? Yes, 1 ECM module less... but survivability...?

What about the shield version? Anybody has it handy? or can come up with one?

Jumping a Scorpion away from its support makes it more likely to die, rather than less.

Still don't see, but as you posted ... :)

Are you sure 640M is a reasonable price for a T1 BS fit? That amplified does help, but it is SO expensive. Plus T2 LACR rig - 150M. I've compacted Neut and it can fit with T1 rig:

@Shintu Felper: why Higgs Anchor rig? Is it for rolling? And depending on the expected engaging target, I feel like HML don't always win vs Blasters. Plus I will like Burst Jammer + LMJD is too much: you either break locks and run or try removing scram and MJD-off. But in this fit I see no effective way to kill small tackle: no Grappler, no neuts... :( no-go
