Imperial Navy Slicer

Post by Budda Sereda »

Currently posted 3 Kiting fits.
Spoiler

Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Overdrive Injector System II

Small Energy Collision Accelerator I

Code: Select all

[Imperial Navy Slicer, High Skill]
Small Focused Pulse Laser II
Small Focused Pulse Laser II

Gistii B-Type 1MN Microwarpdrive
Warp Disruptor II

Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Tracking Enhancer II
Co-Processor II
Nanofiber Internal Structure II

Small Energy Collision Accelerator I
Small Processor Overclocking Unit I

Imperial Navy Multifrequency S x2
Scorch S x2
Kiting High Skill 2:

Code: Select all

[Imperial Navy Slicer, High Skill 2]
Small Focused Pulse Laser II
Small Focused Pulse Laser II

5MN Y-T8 Compact Microwarpdrive
Faint Warp Disruptor I

Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Damage Control II
Fourier Transform Tracking Program
Nanofiber Internal Structure II

Small Processor Overclocking Unit I
Small Processor Overclocking Unit I
Small Polycarbon Engine Housing I

Scorch S x2
Imperial Navy Gamma S x2
All of them have a very low cap (80 seconds).

Instead of 3 of them, I clearly want to publish 1. This is what I came up with:
Spoiler

Code: Select all

[Imperial Navy Slicer, Solo PvP Kiting]

Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Damage Control II
Tracking Enhancer II
Co-Processor II

5MN Y-T8 Compact Microwarpdrive
Initiated Compact Warp Disruptor

Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Scorch S
Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Scorch S
[Empty High slot]

Small Processor Overclocking Unit I
Small Low Friction Nozzle Joints I
Small Polycarbon Engine Housing I

Scorch S x2
Conflagration S x2
Imperial Navy Multifrequency S x2
It has good DPS and tracking as for kiter, but low cap (1m20s only). Is this enough? Can this be published? How to increase cap time?

There is also SAAR version published, very similar in characteristics:
Spoiler

Code: Select all

[Imperial Navy Slicer, 2016 Pulse Solo/small gang]

Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Small Ancillary Armor Repairer, Nanite Repair Paste
Nanofiber Internal Structure II
Nanofiber Internal Structure II

5MN Y-T8 Compact Microwarpdrive
Warp Disruptor II

Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Scorch S
Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Scorch S
[Empty High slot]

Small Energy Locus Coordinator II
Small Energy Locus Coordinator II
Small Energy Locus Coordinator I

Gleam S x2
Scorch S x2
Imperial Navy Multifrequency S x2
Nanite Repair Paste x16
Has also cap issues (only 70 seconds). I would replaced one or 2 Locus rig by CCC to increase cap stability, but in this case range will be reduced till 19.8km+3.13km... this is quite low I guess?

Another currently published fit is Escort version:
Spoiler

Code: Select all

[Imperial Navy Slicer, Escort Slicer]
Small Focused Pulse Laser II
Small 'Knave' Energy Drain
Small Focused Pulse Laser II

1MN Afterburner II
Faint Warp Disruptor I

Pseudoelectron Containment Field I
200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Small Ancillary Armor Repairer
Adaptive Nano Plating II
Heat Sink II

Small Energy Burst Aerator I
Small Energy Metastasis Adjuster I
Small Energy Locus Coordinator I

Nanite Repair Paste x1
Imperial Navy Multifrequency S x2
Which is built based on http://jestertrek.blogspot.ca/2013/10/f ... licer.html. I will publish it as is with a reference in Notes to the same article.

Fleet PvP Shield Buffer fit:
Spoiler

Code: Select all

[Imperial Navy Slicer, Shield Kiter]

IFFA Compact Damage Control
Overdrive Injector System II
Tracking Enhancer II
Tracking Enhancer II
Heat Sink II

5MN Y-T8 Compact Microwarpdrive
Medium Shield Extender II

Dual Light Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Standard S
Dual Light Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Standard S
[Empty High slot]

Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Small Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer I

Gleam S x2
Aurora S x2
Imperial Navy Multifrequency S x2
Imperial Navy Standard S x2
Good one the only issue is poor tracking and no tackle module... but that can be managed in fleet fights.

I don't see any scram kiter fits... curious why? Because of only 1 mid module? Still, it can be a good surprise for somebody who will warp to plex expecting a Kiter fit... I guess it is not 'recommended' as for real scram kiter you do want to have web?

Please comment.

Thanks!

2 fits for a slicer, pulse and beam, almost identical. There's not really any other way of fitting it. You have to stay the hell away from anything and everything, otherwise you will die.

But White, both fits has so low cap. Beam - 90s, Pulse - 70s. This is nothing for kiter fits. Is that enough?

And how Beam fit is different from Pulse? Gives higher range for the price of worse tracking?

Buffer tank fits COULD be used for fleet PvP so I left it.

You don't run the armor repairer unless you are in real trouble. Ideally you wouldn't actually be running it at all during a fight because if you're taking damage that bad you're probably dead anyway.

Slicers are NOT easy ships to fly at all. They rely on their speed and protection to kill things so if you start fitting buffer you slow them down massively and they just become useless. A plated T1 frigate is better than a plated slicer.

Why Locus Coordinator for Beam Slicer? It has enough range. If not enough, switch for longer range ammo. Maybe better Capacitor Control Circuit? Without it Beam Slicer has only 70s of cap, for kiter this is almost nothing... Same about Ionic Field Projector? Why do you need extra 10 km loking range? To shoot ships from 60km, not from 50km? Is this ever useful? I think cap stability is better:

Beam slicers are for hazing things at huge range, without having tackle on them. I promise you that's the fit that almost everyone would use, I literally just pulled the latest beam slicer deaths:

https://zkillboard.com/kill/64235043/ (ignore the weird lowslot here)
https://zkillboard.com/kill/64234702/

Locus is 100% the most important rig.
