Re: Executioner

A very basic Scram fit that works for a new character (except for being able to fit the Nosferatu and Autocannons which requires a few minutes of training). With a cost of under a mil it can be thrown at fast ships to slow them down without worrying about the cost even for a new player.

Re: Executioner

Mini-slicer is a nice fit. It's tight (0.2 TF spare with perfect skills), but does almost 4k/s. Keep that one!

The 'Solo PvP beam' fit is crap. It's an AB brawl fit, but then has beam lasers on. Bin it.
The 'Solo PvP low-sec' is better in that it has pulse lasers, but then has a plate on a self rep frigate fit.
If we want to put a self rep brawl fit in (which we probably shouldn't as there are much better amarr options), then this is better:
  Code:
[Executioner, FD: Solo brawl]

Damage Control II
Prototype Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane I
Small Ancillary Armor Repairer, Nanite Repair Paste

1MN Afterburner II
Warp Scrambler II
X5 Enduring Stasis Webifier

Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Scorch S
Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Scorch S
Small Focused Pulse Laser II, Scorch S
[Empty High slot]

Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Small Energy Burst Aerator I

Scorch S x3
Conflagration S x3
Imperial Navy Multifrequency S x3
Nanite Repair Paste x75

This is a slight improvement on the T1 fleet tackle, primarily cost, but also changing the laser crystal for something suitable for kiting range:

  Code:
[Executioner, FD: T1 Fleet Tackle]

Damage Control I
Type-D Restrained Nanofiber Structure
Micro Auxiliary Power Core I

5MN Cold-Gas Enduring Microwarpdrive
J5 Enduring Warp Disruptor
Medium Azeotropic Restrained Shield Extender

Gatling Modulated Energy Beam I
Gatling Modulated Energy Beam I
Gatling Modulated Energy Beam I
[Empty High slot]

Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Small Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer I
Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I

Imperial Navy Radio S x3

I'm not sure I approve of Nys' disposable tackle frigate. It's not a great lesson to be teaching newbros.

Re: Executioner

To complete the review, I don't know what the 'CT' one is. Whoever did the fit appears to have forgotten to put any tank on. Bin it.

The PvE one is ok, except for a capacitor problem, which is easily fixable as it's also missing rigs:

  Code:
[Executioner, FD: PvE Mission Basic]

Damage Control I
Small Armor Repairer I
200mm Crystalline Carbonide Restrained Plates

1MN Afterburner I
Cap Recharger I
F-12 Enduring Tracking Computer

Dual Modal Pulse Laser I
Dual Modal Pulse Laser I
Dual Modal Pulse Laser I
[Empty High slot]

Small Capacitor Control Circuit I
Small Capacitor Control Circuit I
Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I

Radio S x3
Standard S x3
Multifrequency S x3
Optimal Range Script x1

Note that this fit requires 'Energy Grid Upgrades' training to II from a clean Amarr character.

Normally I'd take the plate off and put heat sink on, but I don't know how good an idea that is for shiny newbros doing level 1 missions?

Re: Executioner

First, I too think having throwaway tackle is a bit boring for newbros.
If you are going for something big and shiny, why not. At least the newbro can establish first tackle, gets on the KM and gets a big "Fu yes, great tackle! Good job on that one!".
While in a normal fleet.. "Yey, thy"

As for the fits, welp, the CT fit is.. well I can see that fit being used if you want to do an alpha/high DPS fleet. But then you should go for Winmatar or Caldari. Also, destroyers ->Bin
The PvE fit is not bad. Yes it has a plate, but iirc, the buffer is enough to keep you alive during the mission(Should test this). And then you simply save money by not paying the lazy repairman at the station. So it's not bad, I'd probably go for a full T1 fit and no rigs needed as proposed. It's just a stepping stone and capstable without the repper. :)
For the fleet tackle, I prefer Lotanis's fit, as it's cheaper and does the job just fine. About the crystals, I think every fit should have Multi, standard, and the other one I always forget.. Microwave? Just as a good habit tbh. Should ofc be explained.
Solo PvP.. as Lotanis said, plate why? No need, no benefit.
Solo "beam"... sure if you want to feel like a battleship against frigs. Unless you can scramkite, in which case this fit might work out against other ships. They are in your optimal, but you are in their falloff. If you find a brawly MWD frig that is. Eh, it could work.
Mini Slicer is top notch. Just not newbro friendly but eh.. that's why we are using fleet up. ;)
༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Did someone say "Stealthbomber"? Explosions? And ECM? I'm in! Let's blow shit up! ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ

Anything with "CT" in the name is almost certainly one of Sabre A's "Chill Town" fits from 2.5 to 3 years ago. They tended to be specialised, suitable for specific high end situations with lots of SP, ... and entirely undocumented. A lot of them were variants of PL doctrine fits of the time.

Re: Executioner

Thanks for the history Bora. I assumed it meant something.

'Highly specialised fits' are almost exactly what we don't want for the wiki fits (particularly if they're 2 years old) so good to know the should be treated with skepticism if we encounter more of them.

For the fleet tackle one, I put some thought into the crystal selection. I didn't put more in for a couple of reasons. Mainly I wanted to keep the cost down for something that is likely to be used by extremely newbros going on their first few fleets (and might get lost). I also didn't want to confuse them when their main role was tackle not DPS. If they've only got one crystal then they can't have the wrong one loaded. I put radio in because that's the new with closest to point range.

If we do want to put more in we could fix the cost issue by putting T1 crystals in instead of faction.

Re: Executioner

Being an Amarr fan boy and following Kelon for my understanding of PVP, I'm going to link his most used fit here. Kelon likes to fly it as a MWD/Scram/Web archetype going with Pulse lasers.

  Code:
[Executioner, Solo PvP Pulse]

Damage Control II
Heat Sink II
Small Ancillary Armor Repairer, Nanite Repair Paste

5MN Quad LiF Restrained Microwarpdrive
J5b Enduring Warp Scrambler
X5 Enduring Stasis Webifier

Small Ghoul Compact Energy Nosferatu
Dual Light Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency S
Dual Light Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency S
Dual Light Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency S

Small Energy Burst Aerator I
Small Energy Collision Accelerator I
[Empty Rig slot]

Without the SAAR running it is cap stable but is tight on CPU so it is a high skill fit. Staggering the reps and with the help of NOS, I imagine the weakest link in this fit is the piloting skills.

Edit: Comparison against AB fit: I'm not sure how well an AB/Pulse Executioner would do for solo combat inside or outside of plexes but it does seem to be a shame to lose the maneuverability on an Executioner. From my zkillboard searches the most common Executioner flown for solo is MWD/Scram/Web. AB fits were mostly found on Beam Executioners.

Can only speak from my own experience that it was fun back then. Not for everyone I guess but I learned a lot from flying similar ships. And I think one of the most important things is to lose the fear of losing ships. In the absence of more advanced ships it's also the only way to catch some kiting stuff.

But if we are looking for one basic fit it should be one for the intended role of the ship, so a long point pseudo-inty. I personally prefer an ASB on that but a simple extender fit is probably better because easier to use.

Re: Executioner

For fleet tackle, it does not require any damage, successfully tackle the target and survive until fleet arrive is first need.
Thus this fitting does not have any weapon, all the resources are relocated in speed and ehp.
It both have 1mn ab and 5mn mwd for the situation which pilot face on secondary point.
Also, for this fitting, power grid management requires V, which means 56 MW in total and perfectly used.

  Code:
[Executioner, fleet tackle-]
Damage Control II
400mm Rolled Tungsten Compact Plates
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II

1MN Afterburner II
Warp Scrambler II
5MN Y-T8 Compact Microwarpdrive

Re: Executioner

I'm not sure what I think of the dual prop scram fit. It does have some plus points, but one observation that I'd make is that it is a tight fit, and as such would need moderately skilled pilots to fly. And at that point you might as well use an interceptor (unless you're trying to catch stuff in Novice plexes).

I'm also not sure that an armor buffer tanked ship is the right way to go if you're trying to make it go fast. Most kitey armor frigates (e.g. Malediction, Slicer) are usually SAAR fit exactly for this reason.

Re: Executioner

Way late to this party but I've been getting a lot of use out of a travel fit:

  Code:
[Executioner, Wanna Go Fast]
Inertial Stabilizers II
Inertial Stabilizers II
Inertial Stabilizers II

Medium Shield Extender II
Medium Shield Extender II
Small Shield Extender II

Small Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I
Small Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I
Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I

7au warp speed, < 2s align, 7k ehp with pretty low skills. Whole thing only costs <4.5M. Just as good as a travel Atron.

Re: Executioner

Because Alpha characters can't get into a interceptor this is probably the best travel fit for them in K-Space. Just meta the shield modules as Max Amarr Alpha character can't train into Shield Upgrades IV needed for Medium Shield Extenders II. For Omega characters this would not get much use and the interceptor train isn't too long.

  Code:
[Executioner, Wanna Go Fast]

Inertial Stabilizers II
Inertial Stabilizers II
Inertial Stabilizers II

Medium Azeotropic Restrained Shield Extender
Medium Azeotropic Restrained Shield Extender
Small Shield Extender II

[Empty High slot]
[Empty High slot]
[Empty High slot]
[Empty High slot]

Small Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I
Small Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer I
Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I

Edit: With max skills as an Amarr Alpha clone you get (according to Pyfa):
  • Align Time: 2.01 s
  • Warp Speed: 7.04 AU/s
  • 5.93k EHP on EM Resistance Hole
