Which destroyer/battlecruiser?

Post by Tadyan »

I have an older character. I have all of the 'magic' 14 trained to V, plus levels 1 and 2 of the pyramid skill plan entirely, along with (all subcap) drones and hybrid weapons, small projectile, and then Gallente frig/cruiser and Minmatar frig up to V.

So my gunnery leans more toward Gallente systems, but want to train one of the racial destroyers (and battlecruisers) up to V for interdiction and command purposes. Right now I have all trained to III - which would be best to prioritize?

This is a PvP and Null Sec Campus centric answer based on personal experience:

At the moment, the interdictors people use most often are the Sabre, followed by the Flycatcher. Interdictor pilots are very helpful at WHC and NSC. The Eris is also used by some but I don't recall seeing a Heretic at NSC over the last few months.

In terms of battlecruisers - the recent strat ops at NSC call for T1 Caldari Battlecruisers (T1 and T2 fits available) for damage dealing role, though the more specialised command ships (which require more experience) are T2 fits from other races.

From my sightings the flycatcher or sabre are the more popular interdictors. If you want to get into command destroyers the pontifex seems to be the most popular. For command ships im not really sure, only know that the slepnir and nighthawk seems to be popular in fleets.
