[AAR] Hunting Thrashers 1-12

We undocked the hunting thrasher fleet and after 10 minutes of explaining fleet participation and each ships roles we set off with Hung Lao as our scout.

The doctrine worked well, exactly as intended.

I had 2 inquisitors (sometimes 3), up to 2 griffons (who died alot), and 1 Punisher. Total was 19 players so that is about 14 Thrashers.

1st encounter was In Heydelies, the scout found and tackled within a plex a Fed navy Comet, and Navy Catalist... Apparently, they were fighting each other.... Surprisingly to me, our punisher survived this, and we managed to bag the Catalyst inside the medium. https://zkillboard.com/kill/114730420/ 43 mill

Having experienced this minor success with no loss, A Huricane fleet issue warps to our plex, we bounce and I tell my punisher to go back and try and get it. However, someone got left behind, and was sitting outside our medium plex in a thrasher... and manages to scram it. He dies, but we land scram on the Cain. My Griffons succeed at their jam, reps hold, and we bring the Cain down with no further casualties. https://zkillboard.com/kill/114730493/ 214mill. This is the exact fight this doctrine was built for, and it worked beautifully (except its supposed to be the punisher who gets the tackle and it wouldn't die)

The next fight was much more scarry. Again n Heyd, we detect a fleet of 3 ospray navies, an Aug navy, Vexor navy, and Exec navy... Yeah... was scared and I estimated a 60% chance of total whelp. But I did it anyway. We slide as a fleet, the Exec is at 0. The Vexor, and aug are also close. The ospray navys are at range. Called primary the exec navy. (highest DPS threat, most available). I get blapped (Warped in and broke invuln first), but the Exec goes down, I FC from my Pod (should have had a secondary FC), Call the vexor secondary. It takes a while for the fleet to burn up to it and switch target, but it goes down in short order. Surprisingly, the fleet is still combat capable, the Reps are keeping some of the thrashers alive long enough for the osprays to get into reload (validating bringing the reps on such a fleet, our guys were not able to be picked off as fast as untanked thrashers would have, and it mattered) The griffons did not have as much luck in this fight. So I call the Aug navy primary (left for last as its most tankey) It breaks, and I call scatter (we were never getting the osprays). We reform in stackmon, with about 1/3 of our fleet surviving. End result 3 dead cruisers for 2/3 of our fleet. (also, very pleased it was against CALSF, those guys are good)

After reform, we head off to Villier and Aldranett

I chose to avoid a fight against 4 Caracals + a few frigs. (this comp does not deal with kitey long range comps)

I do make a mistake, we detected a Scythe Fleet, exec navy and 1-2 more long range cruisers, and land in the middle of them outside a plex. I was fumbling around with my overview, and commands, trying to align out, broadcast align out and tripped over my own overview, and be sure to not leave any behind, instead My delay gets one thrasher pointed... should have immediately warped out. need to work on extractions.

I leave my scout alone in a medium plex, in Aldranett. 2 Rail Execs, fall for the bait and warp in the plex at 0, with scout getting point on 1. We get both of them, losing only a griffon (sorry, jams work on Brawlers in this fleet, not Long range projection.)

And I brought the fleet home. Thank you to all who flew the fleet, and thank you for the logistics team for putting up the contracts. And big thanks to my scout.

Learning points,
Extract quickly with this fleet.
Everyone flies long range ships in FW, bring a fleet geared to fight Small Gang Style ships.
Appoint a secondary FC before the fight. (was a problem in that big cruiser fight)
