As far as the intended purpose - giving people practical FC experience - I think this was a success, and I intend to refine the format over time.
Traven started as FC. We took on a sabre, then a (autopiloted) shuttle. The shuttle seemed to attract some attention, and in fear of a large blob forming on us I decided to carry on our route towards populated sov null. In retrospect what I saw was a few cruisers and smaller, and I would have liked to engage. I also failed to broadcast in general.
Grabbed a safe for command hand-off to Alma, who led us further onward. We saw a likely gate camp at D-W7F0, and recognized what it was from afar. Through group discussion, the decision was made to engage for the experience in leading combat. We almost managed to take a Stabber down with us, but didn't quite get the kill before we started dropping and whelped. Stabber was a solid choice of target.
We reformed for another yeet out of Stacmon, handing FC off to Shukken, with Vybez in 2FC. Shukken had the (mis)fortune of the fleet ending up almost immediately noticed by Sigma Grindset in their home space. We quickly lost about half the fleet, but Shukken maintained composure and managed to get the rest of the surviving members back together for a final showdown at the gate in R-ARKN. Solid target calling led to a couple of kills, and Vybez took over command smoothly when Shukken went down
We wrapped up each FC's reign with individual self-reflection and feedback, and wrapped up the fleet with a bit more discussion.
Format refinements:
Doctrine maybe needs some more consideration if this event type is run in Null again.
Consider Pochven or other roam locations, sovnull has a solid chance of ending up blobbed like we did at the end.
