[NSC] RLML Caracals @1800 on 22.02.2021

Formed up Caracals at the NSC again. United Fleet sat around the station so decided to quickly undock and engage them. They had lots of well coordinated tackle and were able to shed our tackle quite often. I made a few bad calls on fleetwarps and was too timid with target calling and using tacticals. They were able to often warp off just before we could kill them.

Still decided to chase them to M2 after they left when we docked up to repair and reship.

Was too slow deciding to react on the intel so we were chased by them when I finally decided to go check out the Reblier gate. As they brought even more stuff this time we ran and I decided to dock up the fleet and call it as I was too exhausted from the previous engagements.


Overall evaluation

  Overall felt that I did better than in previous Caracal fleets I FCed
  Did check for ranges at formup
  Jumped head first into a quickly developing situation while we were still forming up and managed somewhat
  Called the fleet early when I realised that I was just too exhausted and unconcentrated from the engagements

  Didn't assign an anchor
  Didn't coordinate well with tackle, was often not aware of the status of our different tackle ships

You seemed a bit overwhelmed at times, not that there is anything wrong with that, i am in no way saying i would have done any better. You identified the tackle problem already so let me just add that it's perfectly fine to take a little breather and say "hey guys, we can't seem to hold down our enemies, how do you propose we do this going forward?" (or something along those lines) to make everyone aware that more coordination is requiredand that coordinating is in part everyones responsibility. Ofc coordinating is up to you as the FC in the end, but sometimes you need to tell the fleet so they actually let you do that instead of half of them doing what they think is right in the heat of the moment and you sort of becoming a passenger in your own fleet.

Well, that sounds like the fleet was total chaos, which it absolutely was not, it was fast paced and fun, but there is always room for improvement and i am looking forward to joining you next fleet in 2 weeks.

Had not been on a fleet for about a month and this was really jumping into it quickly again.
Hideo makes some good points, but it was a fun fleet regardless. Our tackles were eaten up quite quickly before we could take on their bigger ships, but we did get a few good kills on the board.

Looking forward to see what changes lie ahead for the new fleets. Hoping to join them when I can.

It was a great fleet, I've been wanting to get back into scouting/tackling for some time, and I got my chance, lots to learn and remember. I even ran out of isk to buying interceptors (thanks to everyone for helping me out). Lots of fun, I will be returning if I can.
