There was a flashy Orca on a gate - yeah, you don't have to tell me. But we had to follow the rule, so we took the bait as always. Instead of the Gnosises they were using earlier they decided to upship to 2 Vindis + 1 Gnosis. We noped out.

Brawl Round 2: Derpatrons vs Merlins

Was rather enjoyable - they evened out the odds to some extent by having logi. I tried not to prioritize their Logi unless needed which translates to only calling their Logi primary when our numbers reached a point where we couldn't break their reps. Towards the end I just ordered the fleet to put their neuts on the remaining Logi while we take out the last few Merlins in range. After that it was simple clean-up.

Before I get criticized: The decision to not take out their Logi straight off the bat was to prolong the fight and get a more enjoyable experience for both sides out of it.

Since this was quite some time ago I don't have much present from the fleet, but luckily I made some notes.

I was flying as scout in a Slasher, Z0X was also scouting.
After my last fleet I tried to comunicate more between the scouts, wich worked better this time. I also noticed the difference in experience between me and Z0X. He was roaming nonstop when there was no action and I will try to incorporate that as well for my future scouting.

Had my first engagement as scout/tackle where I did not die instantly. Yeah!

In Vlillirier we had some ppl in local but did not find them on D-Scan at first. There were some plexes that were out of scan range so I warped at 100 to one of the far of plexes and found 3 people sitting on the accaleration gate. At this point I tried to start giving all the info to the FC when I noticed that the Gnosis locked me. At this point I tried to warp out but I was to slow and was one shot.

The brawls where fun and I managed to stay alive for a good while and had a good chance to practice manual piloting.

From a newbro perspective the only thing I would try to improve for these kinds of fleets is a little more direction on how to fly in an engagment where you dont achor up an the fc. I know from experience that it can be overwhelming in your first fights/fleets to just remember where your optimal is. Keeping an eye on your surrundings and all that. This could be a good learning opportunity for newer pilots like myself, but to draw the right conclusions you first have to know what you should be doing. e.g. spiraling in and not burning straight to your target.

All in all it was a fun fleet as always.
