[AAR] Rogue owns a citadel now

Post by Rogue Ozran »

Today I was just chilling in HSC chat enjoying the Company of everyone online, passing on a few puns to those that appreciate them and not alike, I was planning to do some exploration Combat sites in the stacmon loop, but a little birdy came to HSC comms and told us that there is an unanchored astrahus in nullsec and I decided to make a run for it.

Charlie dame Berry decided a race was on so we cominde the race for the Citadel in 94-H3F was on! I was a little behind in the onset as i had to fly from Stacmon to Amygnon to get my Sigil and try for the egg. after i got the egg i started my run 35 jumps through low and null in a T1 Industrial, about 2 jumps into null i saw an ares trailing me, he locked me up a couple times, even tried to get a point on me, but i had two warp stabs on so a lone interceptor wasn't going to get me easily, I either outpaced, shook him or the Ares gave up chasing, but either way I made it to my desto in one piece only seeing a Harbinger Navy Issue along that leg.

When I made it to 94- the egg was right ther 1000 meters off the gate, I bookmarked the location and bounced to get to it and scoop it, I proceeded to a nearby structure, dropped the Astrahus in there and Asset Safetied the whole thing so I can pick it up in 20 days in lowsec. After i got it safely out of nullsec I mad my way home making best speed, but I didn't look at DOTLAN for my route back and hit a gatecamp in 0-ZXUV where I lost my empty Sigil and got podded home.

Loot:
1x Astrahus

Losses:

So I would say I ended ahead and earned my cash for the Day, as well as learning a lot from Kelon Darklight who was so gracious to let me take the Citadel, I learned about how to use Asset Safety and some of the Citadel Mechanics (which I will be learning a lot more of)

I then plan to use the Citadel I'm thinking as a Freeport in the base of the Stacmon lowsec loop and probably get some PI involved as well, I have been thinking of how I want to work my isk making work better and this will be a fun way to do that.

Rogue, where is the mission impossible Gifs and memes we talked about! We definitely were humming the mission impossible theme, and talking about heists!

Well, to tell it from my side, I was just roaming null in my Vexor Navy again, poking places where people were undocked, when I realized right before I jumped out of a system, something was moving at 0 m/s ongrid. Not recalling seeing any ships, that felt odd, so I jumped back in. In short order I determined that 1) there was an unachored Astrahus there and 2) I had no way to loot it. As a huge fan of grand theft large items of value, I felt this could not stand. I asked my fellow tuskers, no one wanted it. I asked Bringing solo back, too far. Then I asked e-uni, and I got some volunteers to make a run for it. I start circling the area as I didn't want to attract attention to it by staying on grid.

Once the Sigils get closer, I attempt to guide them in. Not only did I not see Rogue come through despite knowing where he was coming from, I learned sigils are actually 50% higher warp speed than cruisers. This was embarrassing, as I then I have to rush to catch up as he slipped past me. Luckily, no one had looted it, so Rogue bookmarked it so he could warp to it, warped to it, then I explained the safest way to extract it.

So once upon a time, some clever people were setting up courier contacts to the new citadels, charging a high collateral, then once accepted, they would turn freeport status off, and prevent them from docking, eventually collecting collateral, and setting up the trap again. CCP eventually fixed this by letting you always be able to go to a citadel, and drop it in using a new button on the select item window. What this means to the inspiring pvper in null, is if you roam around, you can drop loot as you go along in any hostile citadel, and asset safety it to low so you can keep on roaming at a mere 15% cut.

While he didn't look up Dotlan when dieing to that camp, there is another way to check. If you bring up the ingame map, you can have it show average pilots in space in the last half hour, which is a good way to detect gate camps like that one. I did try to escort them, but they were just plain faster. I also managed find that Navy Harb that was mentioned in the prior post and I had an epic fight to the finish with me standing over the remains.
