Scout warped to 100 on the Sun where an Algos was waiting. I tried to get fleet in in time but as we had to warp to the previous out gate we lost the slasher. I was giving commands quickly to try secure a kill. I hadn't realised 2 Drekavacs had jumped in behind us. They managed to get a Merlin.

  Formup was quick, everyone flew well and were helpful.

  I moved the fleet too hastily in Old Man Star and lost a Merlin.

I wanted to just say thanks to everyone who came, made it a very enjoyable 1st time FCing. Thanks to Ares for 2IC oversight.

Honestly thought you had FC'd at least 10+ fleets. You did a bang up job and I hope to fly with you again soon.

Sometimes I roam through empty systems and realize other people get kills in systems I just went through. Consider making a loop back and forth. Not always, but sometimes it works.

As part if self-analysis would be good to understand, what could be done better to save that Merlin.

And, keep FCing, sometimes you feel discouraged, but it might be just a bad day

Good preparation/organization. Calm and steady commands. Accurate threat analysis.

The fleet went well and for being a first time FC, you did a great job!
Especially trying to split fleet and vanguard to cover both sides of the gate, that is much more advanced than what you expect during a newbro Merlin roam.
With experience, timing of commands and decision making will just get easier as you grow comfortable with your role and fleet-mates.

Scouts did well too, we lacked content because there was none to be had, not for lack of trying
