Kills and Losses

Today's bomber dive into systems normally populated were desolate. A possible reason for the low content was that EVE Vegas 2018 was in Day Two and Twitch streamers attracted players into their fleet roams.

(18:31:37) K-6K16, J-LPX7, YZ9-F6
The fleet took a jump bridge back to a ping on the wormhole in K-6K16, but spies in the fleet told the bad guys, and they warped in to block the wormhole back to 745. A blockade fleet included a Titan, bubbles, small ships and an Onyx. The FC directed a kill on the Onyx. The Onyx was destroyed as the fleet landed at the wormhole, burned into the bubble and jumped through the wormhole. The Onyx took a Bombers Bar face punch and was destroyed.

Mar5hy found a Phoenix mission-running two systems outside the wormhole. Mar5hy pointed the Phoenix, the fleet burned across two systems to the target and destroyed it. What a Lucky bird.

Hunters found Leshak(s). Mar5hy ordered his corp section to refit into logistic Legions with cyno modules. The FC led the Legions to the target area. The hunt was unsuccessful, the Legions returned to 745, and reshipped into Armada doctrine.

On the ninth wormhole, hunters found a Rorqual mining. It did not go into PANIC mode. No support fleet arrived. The Rorqual was destroyed.

2107 There was a time delay. The FC ordered the fleet to spread out, cloak, and align to planet XIII.
2108 The fleet warped to the BLOPS at zero-cloaked. Something happened. The fleet warped off to a safe and cloaked. The FC issued a warning about the importance of warping to the BLOPS cloaked. A second warp to the BLOPS was made. A pilot in a bomber landed uncloaked, and uncloaked the fleet. The pilot did not realize his cloak was off, and apologized. The fleet warped to a safe cloak and waited to restage on the BLOPS. The time wasted resulted in a missed target of opportunity. The fleet warped a third time to the BLOPS at zero-cloaked. The target of opportunity was cancelled.

LESSONS LEARNED:
-Cloak first, then warp to the BLOPS at zero. One of the fundamental actions every pilot in the fleet must learn to control. The pilot that decloaked the fleet at the BLOPS thought he was cloaked. He did not check himself until the fleet shamed him. The FC was too easy on him. For a tight operation as Bombers Bar, infractions usually resulted in pilots removed from fleet or banishment. We will never know the value of the missed target of opportunity, but we knew the value of following the FC's directions, and ensuring your ship's cloak is activated.

I believe it was a super carrier that was missed due to the uncloaked pilot, so it was somewhere around 20b.

While the FC decided not to kick/kill him, chat became tiresome with people repeatedly mentioning it. His mistake was to not check he was cloaked or maybe he warped off cloaked and was decloaked by something when he landed without realising. Theres a certain lack of value in the umpteenth person saying something about it, he's not going to feel any worse, it's not going to magic the kill back, but that's the nature of people.
