We had several new people on the fleet.

Our form up was a bit longer than the usal 30 min, since FC was a bit late to start :) Thanks Decklin for help in organizing.
Also thank you Laser for help with Logi.

Kills and Losses

First kill of the night. We caught poor felow in dastryins.
(18:37:39) Dastryns
Tristan +0.48m

Not sure what this was, I don't think scouts mentioned this.
(18:44:02) Agoze
Stiletto +63.41m

So we went to Loes to meet with someone from Amy, and we found A band apart small gang.
Since I didn't want to loose interecpor i send a small vanguard in to get tackle. They did get the tacle and
kept it even under balghorns pressure, but we lost decklin, since he got separated from logi.

(18:51:37) Ouelletta
Enyo -51.87m
Bhaalgorn +501.79m
Scythe Fleet Issue +89.86m
Raven +206.51m

So we went up to pipe and played with small gate camp on the heydeis gate. They were on point so we moved on. We went all the way to
Okkamon without finding much to fight (we found couple of fleets too big for us.)

The fleet fight:
And then Decklin said he spotted a nice caracle gang for us to fight. While Decklin kept them entertained, we burned from Okkamon to Sujarento.
Since I didn't want to spook them, I send forward 8 frigates with all the logi.
At the begining it went relativly ok, we lost some punishers and some logi but we killed stork and 2 caracles. Caracles went into reload so I had false sense of security so I went for more of them, which turned out to be mistake. I did call scatter, but by that time we lost too many so I called for scatter. I also think that splitting up at the begging was mistake. If I had to do it again, I would warp whole fleet together, and killed whatever was within 20km, and then bailed.

Note: I didn't realize how many we lost, until i generated this report, in game only 6 loss mails were posted, so I feel even wors for this fight.

(19:34:31) Sujarento
Punisher -9.68m
Inquisitor -5.63m
Inquisitor -6.25m
Retribution -61.68m
Stork +142.91m
Caracal +35.58m
Crow +51.43m
Caracal +39.34m
Caracal +38.38m
Inquisitor -5.74m
Malediction -61.76m
Enyo -51.29m
Caracal +130.86m
Malediction -54.26m
Punisher -9.36m
Punisher -6.98m
Punisher -6.54m
Magus -118.85m

We reshipped in Ichoria. Since we lost most of our tackle, I reshipped into tackle frigate. We played around Nenemalia, Akidagi and Aldernate, but didn't catch anything (there was calsf harpy gang). There were a few battleships with escorts but we didn't have numbers for that anymore. We went towards Kinaka.

On our way there we found lone Vexor plexing.

(20:26:46) Vlillirier
Vexor +43.81m

In kinaka I found another Vexor in plex. But once I jumped in there were 3 recons inside. I managed to warp of, but just then Decklin spotted Iteron on the gate. He tackled it and we killed it. It dropped unfitted flycatcher, so decklin went to keepstar to drop his dragoon, and the rest of us kept the flycatcher locked and pointed so that iteron pilot who was still on grid could not board it (he was in nonflashy pod and had not agressed anyone, and noone wanted to take sec status hit). So decklin did manage to score himelf brand new flycatcher. Lets hope he has better luck getting it out of kinakka than Mr. Stacking Corpses.

(20:37:54) Kinakka
Iteron Mark V +87.97m

Stats
ISK Destroyed: 1,432,318,440.42
ISK Lost: 449,897,807.44
ISK Delta: 982,420,632.98
Efficiency: 76.097%

Overall evaluation
  • (Positive stuff)
    * We killed stuff. :)
    * We got free flycatcher.
    (Negative stuff)
    * We lost fleet fight, because I was too greedy for kills.
    * Didn't kill more stuff.

Fun and entertaining fleet :)

The Stiletto pilot was working with the arty cynabal that Brisecul Anne was flying.

Kora and I went in for tackle on the cynabal, and I got scram and web on it, while Kora took a couple heavy hits from the arty, and then maximised his transversally to stay alive, while logi caught him. Brisecul launched her EC- 300s and two of them got successful jams on me, so she warped off, and at the same time Alexander caught the Stiletto.

Captain JDD mentioned in local that we lost the cynabal but caught the Stiletto. Lucky drones :)

One learning point for that Flycatcher is that the warp disruptor wasn't necessary. So long as anyone had it targeted, nobody could board it. Just so people know :). I've delivered it to Union, at the Keepstar, by the way.

For the fight with the Caracals and ONIs, I had been playing with them for a few minutes, keeping their interest while the fleet traveled a few systems in. I didn't want them to just leave, so I made them chase me a bit. Unfortunately, this meant that they also got pretty spread out, which ended up making it harder for us to kill them as quickly, and some pilots ( myself included) weren't keeping up with the changes in primary. I thought Laser did a fantastic job in this engagement, managing his position, repping when he could, and warping off when he was in danger, twice. That fight was pretty close actually, and really came down to the positioning of their Osprey Navy Issue pilots, as well as the timing of the Caracal reloads, with our logi bouncing.

Nice to see the kill log and reflect on that fight. Logi perspective here, ofc.

1. There were a lot of friendly broadcasts during this fight, my original feedback that we were holding felt rushed when I said it. Mostly based it on the amount of purple in the friendly overview tab. Noticed afterwards that capsules also showed up there - gotta remove them. Based on broadcasts, I was not so confident as there as I was seeing 2x as many rep broadcasts than target broadcasts. I'm happy we were right, that we were actually holding, seeing how little we lost up until the 3rd inquisitor.
2. The turning point of this fight was the 3rd inquisitor loss. That meant I could no longer extend my time on grid with my deacon. First 2 inquisitors
dropped early, and I knew what we were up for. Extend the fight as long as we can, as they didn't have logi on the other side.
3. I didn't specifically call for prop mods on.
4. ADCs are amazing. Loved the discussions in fleet regarding cooldowns on ADCs and the decision to bail.
5. Felt like there were 3 different blobs of ships (some friendly, some not so much). Got disoriented a couple times but managed to manually pilot most of the way. There was at least a 50km spread between certain fleet members, and moving between them felt chaotic as hell.
6. Note to self, always burn a tac before landing on a fight. As much as I managed to bounce, rep whatever and not die, but first one was a long warp to whatever I happened to find in space away from the enemy fleet, second time I made a ping in the middle of that warp but was still over 2-3AU.

Looking at the battle report, we killed way more than I thought, and it was close and a great fight, despite us not being able to hold the grid.

At that moment, I didn't notice that the Cynabal had EC-300's out and since I was the third to enter the complex, I went for the Interceptor right away.

I had to make a quick decision on my assumption that the Cynabal will probably outpace our DD and that the Interceptor will screen off our fast tackle for him to pick off. So, I went to screen off the Interceptor myself. It was not the best situational awareness displayed, yet we got a kill out of them.

PS: There will always be people not following primary, either because (1) they can't (not in range, too stressed, have the wrong prop mod, etc.) or (2) they chose not to do. I had to laugh myself, seeing two guys of the Caracal gang not following their primaries at all neither, but tried to shot at the squishy and expensive things. Anyways, the only way to go in this situation is to keep insisting and display confidence to calm down the stressed ones.
