We came, we saw, we kicked some butt.
There were some really great little fights in novices all over the war zone. No wartargets were engaged. We got a good VNI, and a neutral stabber on a gate. We lost only a few here and there. Please request SRP!

Public Service Announcement:

After taking gate guns, make sure you warp off far enough away that the gate guns ignore you when you get back.

That is all.


On a happier note, I was able to dock in Jita with 1500+ people in system in a flashy pod and leave again with no loss of equipment! I'm sure all the regular campers had a good laugh at the flashy scrub pod zipping in to the instadock :D

Reise, that is a strange occurrence indeed! From what I know, all you need to do is actually warp off, and then come back, there is no range you have to warp to... Unless maybe if you are on grid like 100 off the gate, and you warp across the gate to 100 off on the other side, so still within the 150 gate gun range? That would be a unique situation to be sure, and I have never heard of that behavior...

Do you recall the details?

gate guns suck lol i seem to lose a fair number cause of them i try to warp off soon as i start taking damage

Sorry for the late response, I have been brain-dead since exams ended a month ago and I'm just now feeling like a human again (just in time for the spring!)

I started taking damage from gate guns, and warped off to a citadel, IIRC. I warped back and I was not being aggro'd from the gate until I shot at our target again and the gates reacquired me and started shooting again. I was at half-armor, so it was basically a one-shot at that point. I was so stunned I just sat there in my pod for 30 seconds wondering wtf just happened.

My guess is that the citadel was on-grid with the gate, and so the guns never truly disengaged as they do when you warp off-grid.

I regularly warp on-grid with gate guns to make them disengage. Like Glen said, so long as you warp to a location over 150 km from the gate it works. Are you sure you didn't accidentally aggress a new target?

Did you dock at the citadel and force a session change perhaps? Or does tethering give a session change?
