[AAR] Solitude Vexor Voyage (Oct 26 02:00)

Post by Yuri Levnik »

Howdy all,
We felt the slowness of Vexors tonight. We chased some targets around Solitude low sec but didn't even get close enough to get suspect timers (aside from one hero tackle on a gate). We got a 0.1 clone and a couple of NPC battleships anyway, then headed to null. A flashy fed navy comet blapped our scout and toyed with us, then we chased a very quick Aug Navy (100MN AB?) and Malediction around before finally catching a ratting VNI that tried to outrun us and got tackled on a gate by our scouts. Overall, not a lot of targets we could catch but we did end up ISK positive.

We started out roaming west to the Aridia border. We saw a couple of nice targets, including the Hecate we killed last week and some T3Cs, but everyone cloaked up or docked up when we arrived. Wokum found a 0.1 clone soldier which we blapped for some security status. We also killed a couple of NPC battleships. We took a break and then took a vote. Consensus was to make best speed to Null and see if there were any targets. I sent our 2 scout to scout far ahead and kept our 1 scout +1 as we moved. 2 scout called a flashy Fed Navy Comet heading to Y9G from M2-. We caught up and our 1 scout found the Comet on station in Y9G. Calder bravely tackled the Comet but we were too slow to get second tackle (long warp) and we lost our 1 scout. Sorry Calder, thanks for the hero tackle!

An Aug Navy Issue landed at a tac off the PER gate as we were trying to catch the Comet. The pilot had a buddy in a Malediction as well. The Aug Navy burned away at impressive speed (maybe 100MN afterburner fit?). Our scouts landed tackle but by the time our slowwwwww Vexors landed the Aug Navy was already out of point range. We had no hope of catching up with our 10MN afterburners and the scouts had to warp out to save themselves. Z0X later managed to get us a nearly perfect warp in at ~23km off the Aug Navy but it pulled range easily before we could land webs/scrams. We danced with them for a while longer but eventually left them in 2Q- after deciding we were not going to get 'em.

Our scouts went ahead and found a VNI one jump out. The pilot knew something was up and pulled drones, but made the fatal mistake of fleeing toward the fleet. Our scouts got ahead as the VNI jumped and landed tackle. The rest of us piled back into system with webs and points and got the kill.

At this point we were two hours in so I decided to call it a night. Overall, a quiet night, though we were ISK positive.

Stats
ISK Destroyed: 101,527,996.11
ISK Lost: 49,458,585.69
ISK Delta: +52,069,410.42
Efficiency: 67%

What went well:
  • -We kept together well and landed where we needed to land. We failed to catch the Aug Navy, but we did give the pilot a small heart attack when we all landed ~20km off. Very nice work y'all.
-Scouts did a great job. Reports provided timely intel , y'all found targets quickly and did a great job of getting warpins on the Aug Navy and hero tackling the Fed Navy Comet. We couldn't capitalize, but if we were in faster ships we could have.
-We had two logi pilots who provided valuable repairs. Thanks y'all! Logi roolz #1!
    -We finished security status positive.
    -I had fun!
What could have gone better:
  • -We didn't get fights that play to the Vexors' strengths. We found a lot of quick targets which we couldn't catch. We saw their potential when we swarmed and easily blapped the VNI at the end of the fleet, but we struggled to get our fleet onto targets with webs. I refitted half of the fleet to webs, but you have to lock up before you can web things. Maybe fit SEBOs next week?
-Space was pretty quiet and nobody was able to rustle up a fleet to fight us. Cavemen tried but did not have enough folks online.
Thanks for coming out y'all! We'll run Vexors again next week, probably with SEBOs and a mix of points, scrams and webs to see if we can catch targets more effectively. Ta!
