I have had a desire to become a better small gang pilot, and so I ping a fleet to run the KSG doctrine. Thanks to Yuri, who lent his reputation to the pin, we were able to form a 10 man fleet.
The composition:
3 Brutix (1 was Brutix navy) and later a exec navy that formed the main DPS core of the fleet.
1 Garmur for long Point
1 Keres or Long Point and Damps
1 Crucifier and Sentinel for Damage control.
1 Kiki for anti tackle.
And someone brought a pontifex for links.
I had a few personal questions I wanted to test with this fleet:
How viable was the plan of using KSG fleet to camp the outside of FW plexes (we cought nothing outside a gate)
How likely such a fleet was to provoke a manageable response fleet (no one formed to fight us or came after us, we had to go to them)
This all said, the beginning plan was to go around the long way and attack the gatecamp that was inevitably in tama from behind.
Ran into a multiboxer running 5 vexors at an open site on the way. If the open plex had not closed just when we figured all this out, I might have been able to send tackle and get some of them.
Turns out there was a Vigilant and Harbi navy at that gate. Ok, the garmur and Keres were dispatched (should have sent the crucifier with them to help manage the tackle).
Turns out that Vigilant was rail fit, Who knew? and the Keres and Garmur did not arrive at the same time… and we lost the Garmur. https://zkillboard.com/kill/121285951/ Might have had a different result if I formed the Keres, Crucifier, and Garmur together to secure those points and it might have worked. We did get a long point on the harb navy, but he MJD out. No kills, was sad.

After reshipping. We went over to nen and aldranett. There we found a 4 man cruiser fleet at an open plex. The tackle wing was dispatched, and they managed to secure 2 of them. We warped the fleet at our optimals and took the fight.

This said, I felt this was a good near peer Small gang on small gang fight where we got to use all our tools and fight as a real small gang fleet. Which was more or less what I set out to do.

Encountered a fleet of 3 myrm navy 2 flycatchers and 4 assault frigates. Decided jumping into that was a bad idea. Offered the fight for them to jump into us which may have been a close to fair fight … but they didn’t
And then on the way back to tama… scout found a weird thing, a set of 3 griffon navy’s offering a ransom to a pod they caught… Ok… tackle was sent and caught them. But we lost both the Keres and Malidiction (reshipped from garmur) to them…. (Keres do not warp to 0 at things, not good plan.)

So yeah, that was a fun and interesting roam. Not exactly isk positive, but I sure learned alot and hope others did to. Also, super proud my BC friends did not die (other than mine to stupid)
Follow up ideas
Try KSG on ESS fleet.
Downship to only cruiser size KSG ships for FW, letting us enter some plexes (several ospray navys were seen in medium advanced plexes)
Try a kiting frigate version of a small gang fleet to train kiting skills
