[Space Engineers] EEP Rules and Regulations

E-UNI Engineering Program members participating in the Collaborative Ship Construction Simulation (CSCS) are required to obey all of the following rules and regulations. Failure to do so may result in the revoking of CSCS access, expulsion from EEP, and a mining drill to the brain.

- Keep abreast of any changes to the rules and continue to follow them. (Keep an eye on this thread. Changes will be indicated by additional posts.)

- Keep friend/family referrals appraised of any rules changes as well. Remember that they do not have access to this subforum.

- Treat all of your fellow EEP/CSCS participants with respect. (PvE only. No cheating, stealing, griefing, spam, etc.)

- Do not create any ships with more than 13 mining drills. (Server resource limitation, to keep the game playable for all.)

- You may claim a single large asteroid as your personal base of operations. If you wish to do so, then mark it at your earliest convenience with a beacon to indicate your claim. Until such a beacon is placed, others may easily believe that your asteroid is still unclaimed and attempt to claim it for themselves. (Of course, do not claim an asteroid that has already been marked with a beacon.) If you do not wish to claim your own asteroid, then you may simply make use of the common Medical Bay at the CSCS Primary Site.

- If you claim a large asteroid but you really do not need all of its materials, then you are encouraged to share with others or with friends, or even form a group/faction. But nobody is required to do so.

- Remember to set permissions on public/common systems as "Share with all", especially at the CSCS Primary Site. Otherwise, your fellow engineers will not be able to use them. (Or if they are defenses, then they will actually shoot at them. You can get kicked for doing this.)

- Do not erect defenses that are hostile to other EEP/CSCS participants except at your own personal base of operations. Do not erect hostile base defenses until after you have clearly marked it with a beacon. Because of this rule, it is also recommended that you do not approach any other personal bases unless you know that they are safe.

- Do not eat the toxic metals.

- Be cooperative and courteous with public/common systems, efforts, and constructions. For example, do not re-arrange assembly queues just to push your own jobs to the front if others are waiting on theirs.

Additional clarifications regarding claims:

- If you (or your group) are creating something extremely large and you find that your base asteroid is not enough for materials, then you may request another asteroid. Take the time to excavate your initial asteroid first, though; don't just ask for multiple 'roids just so you can have more when you don't really need it yet. Also remember that all nearby satellite asteroids are yours, and more often than not they can contain a huge amount of additional materials.

- If you do end up claiming additional large asteroids in the future, then try to claim one of the "C-shape" or the "donut" asteroids. You know, the kind that most people wouldn't want to choose as their base in the first place. Try to leave the "good" ones for base claims. (These "unwanted" asteroids have more raw materials than you probably think.)

- It's perfectly okay for a group to claim individual asteroids per member and then all work on a single project, too. The only issue we're trying to avoid is for one person to claim, e.g. 2 or 3 'roids that he doesn't really require, thus needlessly denying the resources to others.

With the EEP being an E-UNI associated project, these are already implicit under DED rules but we should probably state anyway:

- All players must abide by the general E-UNI code of conduct.

- This also applies to in-game chat, where it must remain at a "PG-13" level.

- Maximum mining drills per ship increased from 12 to 13 to allow some designs. The change in performance impact is estimated to be minimal, but we'll continue to monitor and adjust as necessary.
