Has anybody heard of Kerbal Space Program?
Like Eve it is a space related sandbox game where you lead a space Program to conquest the solar system. Currently the 1.11 newest update does not provide multiplayer gameplay,
You are also reatricted to 1 solar system. The 2.0 version for Kerbal Space Program will contain interstellar and multi player mechanics.

Yeah KSP is pretty good, I ran with it o Xbox first but the controls for building & controlling things were pretty poor! I grabbed in on PC and it's a massive improvement, I usually tried to create science fiction ships (like Halo Pelicans etc).

KSP2 should be out just after Star Citizen, given how it goes
