How can I help out and get involved?

How can I help out and get involved?

So you've joined the Uni and had great fun participating in events? You were experiencing the best that EVE has to offer when you think to yourself "How can I help out and get involved?"

The great news is, it’s pretty simple! There are many ways to help out that can fit around your playstyle and the amount of time you have available.

Join the Staff
If you want to dedicate a few hours a month to creating, running or facilitating events for the whole Uni check this page. Feel free to convo the Events Manager if you would like to know more about what is involved and what we do.

If you have an idea for an event you would like to see the department run, please visit the Ideas and Requests thread or contact a member of the Events Department. If you’re not sure your idea is possible or where to begin, give us a shout and we’ll do everything we can to make it happen for you. In EVE most things are possible.

Run your own Event
You have a brand new idea that you want to run. Awesome! We love to see people who take initiative, it means we can give our brains a rest. Please contact the Events Manager to make it happen!

Run an event from the library
We are maintaining a list of all previous events in the Category: Events on the Wiki. If you see an event there that you would like to run please contact a member of the team who will be happy to help you get the ball rolling. Please be advised, this page is currently under review.

Collaborate with another group of players
Do you have contact with another group of players outside the Uni who would be interested in a cooperative / competitive event? Please contact the Events Manager prior to organising anything officially as we may need to obtain permission from other departments.

Volunteer to help
If you want to help us make events run smoothly but don’t have the time to commit to being a full-time member of staff we are maintaining a list of Unistas who are willing to be contacted to assist us in specific roles when events are running.
  • · Pilot’s willing to help out as travel FC’s to and from events,
    · Tour guides who know EVE lore to help out on tourist fleets
    · Anyone willing to help out with the staging of events
To register your interest please contact the Events Manager.

Make a Donation
Whilst we are provided a budget by the Uni we are always happy to receive donations to allow us to make our events even more awesome. ISK can be donated direct to the Events Department wallet and assets can be contracted to the the Events Manager. If you would like to donate to a particular event please use this process and also mail the person running the event (usually the person who made the original post) to let them know.

Finally give us your feedback
We would love to hear from the Uni community about your ideas and suggestions for the department and what you would like to see us doing. It doesn't matter if you are Bright Eyed Newbie or if you an old Bitter Vet we want to hear from you. If you have feedback on the events themselves, feel free to fill in our Events Feedback Form!

If you are unsure about anything to do with planning or running an event please contact a member of the Events Department
Our job is to make sure your events happen.
