[Tournament Practice] Skirmishes & Training on Singularity

New announcements are coming in for an upcoming tournament and you're thinking, "I'm ready to gamble some isk to make more isk." Excellent, because I will likely die in a fire so I'm here to teach you how to survive.

Having participated in countless practices, and competed in maybe at least one tournament, I have *some* experience with these types of events, resulting in unused victory SKINS sitting in Jita.

Now onto the details:

Correct me as you see (until recently, I had won EVE by taking a couple years break) but there are two major opportunities within these events:

Abyssal Deadspace:

Within this portion, players can use a Needlejack to take a solo cruiser into the deadspace, or three frigate pilots can do the same. Once inside, they shoot and get shot by other players. Loot goes to the victors. That's my best understanding, so if further clarification comes out, I'll update this post.

The second major opportunity is the

Proving Grounds.

In this upcoming second option, starting in two weeks, players use a needlejack in a tournament style tiers:

Event 1: 2 v 2 with specified T1 cruisers
Event 1: 5 v 5 "free for all" in specified T1 destroyers
Event 3: 3 v 3 imperial navy slicers

There appears to an unstructured / unspecified plan for 1 v 1, 2 v 2, 3 v 3, 5 v 5, and 5 person free for all for follow on events.

I will be setting up a corporation on SISI (aka Singularity.)

For running skirmishes. I invite anyone interested to send me an EVE Mail *from within Singularity* so you can be added to that temporary corporation for setting up arranged fights within our organization.

Where I need help from my fellow Unistas:

- I need you to assist with setting up and running skirmishes in all time zones.
- I need you to lead classes about and on Singularity for using the test server.
- I need you to add suggested fits to the corporation fittings on Singularity.

To quote the great Eddie Vedder,

Singularity corporation:

Fish Taco Tuesday

Once in Singularity.

Dock up -> Quit Corporation -> Type "/moveme" in the chat window -> choose FD-MJL -> Fly yourself to

Homebase:

EZA-FM IV - Intaki Syndicate Bureau

Once in station, apply to the corporation Fish Taco Tuesday and set clone bay to station then start fitting up ships per the above, and get ready to skirmish!

I recommend forming up in a high sec location.

In null sec some idiot will just come and shoot you (even though hindering testing is against SISI rules).
If you have log off timer you can't use the filament.

I think CCP viewed this as a bug (because you also got an aggression timer from shooting someone inside the proving grounds), they did mention on the stream that they would resolve it -- but depending on the chosen solution this could still be a problem.

Anyone have a good suggestion on how we could communicate times to connect people who are interested in getting together on singularity to practice for proving grounds? or even to just connect to actually do proving grounds on tranquility?

Perhaps a discord or new chat channel in game?

I do see quite a few pings in discord scattered between various areas of discord. Perhaps that is fine.

If anyone is interested I am available most of this weekend except I plan to fly AC stabbers for another fun time with Xyrin 7/17/2020 at 22:00 stacmon.

My family is out of town this weekend, I do have a bit of work to catch up on, but mostly have a fairly flexible schedule to meet almost anytime 7/17/2020, 7/18/2020 & 7/19/2020.

These are basically your box tournament simplified enough to be run once or twice a month, on a revolving schedule. If interest gets big enough, I want to run two staggered groups. These will basically be 5 to 7 players per team, and as many teams as we can reasonably field. Further details inside.

Please post a short application with at least your zKillboard link and preferred time in that thread, if you want to take part. A bit more info regarding your skills and such would be good.
