Weekly HSC level 4 mission fleets

Post by Donk Solette »

L4 Mission Fleets
When: Whenever someone decides to schedule one
Where: Generally in Amygnon (formup out of Moon 1 - Garoun Investment Bank Vault), but other places on occasion
Who: Everybody! It doesn't matter if you're a new player, returning, or a bitter vet - we will make space for you and have loaner ships available for the truly new

Doctrine

None! That said, most of what we fight will be L4 mission rooms full of battleships, so we'd generally recommend (at minimum) a battlecruiser or tanky cruiser. That said - as long as you're comfortable flying it (and losing it if it's a very small ship), you can bring whatever you like.

Newbros

For newbros, we have a treat - we have a fleet of Gnosises on-hand to loan out! While we use a very basic fit on ours (so as to not require much skillpoints), the gnosis is a battlecruiser that technically requires no training to hop into on a day-zero character. That said, while the gnosis allows you to take part - we recommend upgrading to a more dedicated ship once your skills allow.
The fits we have available are as follows:
Heavy Missile Variant
[Gnosis, Mission Fleet - HM Armor]
AE-K Compact Drone Damage Amplifier
Compact Multispectrum Energized Membrane
Medium Ancillary Armor Repairer

Rewards, loot and salvage

There are 3 main sources of income from missions -

Mission rewards: On completion, each mission rewards a certain amount of ISK and LP (loyalty points) - LP can be roughly valued at 1000 ISK/LP (or a bit more if you're careful about how you spend it.) This ISK/LP reward can be split up to 10 people in a fleet - therefore, if we have more than 10-12 people, we will usually split the fleet into two or three separate fleets.

Bounties: All the NPCs we kill in mission fleets (as we only run pirate missions) will have bounties associated with them. These bounties are automatically split between everyone on-grid at the time, and paid out cumulatively in a lump-sum every 20 minutes.

Loot & Salvage: A good chunk of the things we shoot will drop loot when they explode, and their wrecks can be salvaged. To account for this, we will usually have a volunteer salvager that follows the fleet at a delay, scooping the loot and salvaging the wrecks. The salvager takes a 30% cut (as they don't get bounties, due to not being on-grid) - what remains is split between fleet members depending on how long they were with the fleet.

FCs (and running a fleet)

We have a core group of FCs that regularly run these fleets, and have access to the loaner ships. That said, we are always looking for more FCs! If this is something that would interest you, then please contact Duradel or Donk Solette in-game. Running these fleets is super simple, a good bunch of fun (particularly on Friday/Saturday nights :p) and can help get you used to telling a bunch of other people what to do. We're happy to support you in any way we can.

Very enjoyable fleet ran by competent FCs. Running L4s in a fleet is always more than grinding them out solo. Looking forward to more in the future.

I'm having loads of fun doing group L4 missions; definitly interested in FCing a fleet. Would like to talk with Donk on how to go about doing this.

That was awesome. Enough for two full fleets. With thanks to one of our two FCs, Marelle Asanari we melted through missions like a knife through hot butter for 5.5 hours. Who was the FC for the second fleet?

Please keeping doing this. We all had a great time!
