- If you open the cargo of your ship through the button or right-click context menu of your ship, you open the big, universal inventory window.
- Using the option to "open in a new window" will just make another copy of the big universal inventory window, it will not open up windows similar to the old cargo holds.
- The "new window" is still just a duplicate of the regular inventory window, but you can resize it and keep it up side by side. Some elements of the UI won't be possible to trim though, so this window will be noticably bigger and more intrusive than the old single cargo hold window.
- Some actions done in one window will be mirrored in all open copies of the inventory window, which may be more or less inconvenient.
All in all, it felt awkward ... but hopefully if I play around with it some more it'll become more and more intuitive. But one thing is clear though, it'll be a lot messier to handle items in space, with cargo holds, wrecks and corporate hangars.
Also at the moment there are quite a few bugs, drone bays of ships you're not currently flying being set to 0 m3 so you can't put drones in bays unless you're sitting in that specific ship. You also couldn't open the drone bay of ships in a new window, it kept reverting to the current ship's cargo hold of all things.
So, in short I have no idea how this will work out ... need to test more :)
