What is Quartenary science? That sounds interesting and obscure. I can kind of surmise what geoarcheology is, but how about that one, too?
Re: what do you study in real life?
Took a first degree in Materials engineering, now studying applied math after work.

The quartenary is the youngest period in the geological column, significant for it's glaciations or ice ages.
So a "quartenary scientist" is basically the dustscraper among the geologists, and also possibly the guy/gal responsible for those pesky climate diagrams
I'm surprised to see we've got almost as many earthworms and moles in here as we have tech people..

I am absolutely fascinated now! I'm a total science noob, but I spend unnecessary amounts of time reading about different science concepts, especially physics. Do you have any good links to sites that talk about this at a level I could understand? I got to explore a massive land area that once had a glacier in it thousands of years ago, and is now a huge valley in New Zealand. It was amazing to see this big flat area right through mountains. Really cool stuff.
So who are the "earthworms and moles?"
