I'm trying and failing at that in college right now.

When not failing at wushu and sanda I am a Leadership and Public Policy Major.

I'm studying Wing Chun. I haven't been able to put as much time into it as I've wanted, but hopefully that will change when the wife gets out of school.

It's nice to see another econ major out here.

My undergrad degrees are BA in Economics, BA in Political Science and a Certificate in Political Economy. Focused on international trade and international relations.

I'm currently in a part-time Masters of Science in Applied Economics program.

Re: what do you study in real life?

I'm about to go into my 4th year of college! Seems wierd that it's my 3rd summer for college. Anyway I'm majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Philosophy. Yeah, I get people asking me "Why Philosophy? Where will that get you?" or "That's a pretty odd combonation." To be honest the reason I'm doing both is because they're interesting, nothing more. I figure philosophy will open my mind more and see things in a different light. It actually helps me to know myself way more, so when that interview comes I can say what I want in a confident voice.

I have taken Chemistry, Biology and Physics for A - Level and plan to do Dentistry for a degree. Whether I get a place in Dental school is another question, but we all need dreams!

I am a 3rd year Econ PHD student with a Masters in Math. (Please don't tell anyone...) Considering my options in switching to Video Game Design.

I also do Tae Kwon Do when not being horribly injured by it.

I think you're doing it right.

Chris Hedges wrote:We’ve bought into the idea that education is about training and “success”, defined monetarily, rather than learning to think critically and to challenge. We should not forget that the true purpose of education is to make minds, not careers. A culture that does not grasp the vital interplay between morality and power, which mistakes management techniques for wisdom, which fails to understand that the measure of a civilization is its compassion, not its speed or ability to consume, condemns itself to death.

Re: what do you study in real life?

Just about to start a history course. While I'm already working in the field, I don't have a degree in history, or even the required 18 credit hours required to apply for better jobs (I need two classes to hit 18 credit hours), so I'm catching up.
