AKA I'm too lazy to look up this crap myself, so someone should explain it to me.

As far as I understand it:
-TEST and Goons are broing down causing some ruckus for White Noise., who I know nothing about.
-Russians are mad at each other.
-When I look at a sov map I see lots of little subsumed enclaves of alliances. Sup with that?

I've spent all afternoon on different forums trying to work all this out too. Additional questions from me:
1) I've heard mention of a recent "State of the Union" type speech from The Mittani which outlines Goons plans for the coming Winter - does anyone have a linky (or can summarise)?
2) What's all this I keep hearing about Goons & Test resetting each other in the near future? Surely this is just crazeee talk

And i'll try to shed some light on the following... But i'm not gonna try very hard.

test and goons were +10 before, and then set each other to -5 a short while ago around the time MM was disbanding.
test then went and set NC. (one of the russian alliances) +10 and PL +10 as well.

Goons declared war on white noise. which is basically the alliance that formed and led the DRF. These were the main guys that took down the original northern coalition. We don't know why goons declared war. But who ever really knows what the Mittani is up to in his crazy scheming?

Also, we have not seen TEST fighting together with goons lately. So as of yet, they don't seem to be working together. That could always change anytime though.

Lotsa agreements and BFF's and renters and fighting and defending and this and that and more of that and well... POLITICS? =]

Test are currently due to be invading Vale of the Silent, the other half of White Noise territory, so it's probably safe to say that they're at least slightly working together still.

Also, while White Noise started out as a russian alliance there are now at least as many english speakers as russians, as far as I can tell anyway.

Corrections: Goons and TEST have never set each other -5. We are all still BFF. TEST also does indeed have NCdot and PL set blue at the moment. This was why we were down in Curse fighting with them against AAA and co.

The reason TEST and Goons are fighting White Noise and Raiden is for tech moons, their space and some good fights with the chance to kill some supers. For TEST it will allow us to have a better income and be closer to Deklein (Goons home space) to make fighting together easier. We haven't had a large presence with the Branch campaign because we are still moving from Curse and Fountain to our staging system for the Vale campaign. Also NCdot is not a Russian alliance.

What are you smoking and why aren't you sharing?

TEST and Goons are most definitely still +10. TEST + our fountain allies have temp blued PL and NCDot for the duration of the current campaign.

Goons + our allies in Fade and PB (FA, RAZOR, FCon, GENTS, SMA) are invading White Noise in Branch.

TEST + our fountain allies (BDEAL, EXE., Elite Space Guild) + PL and NCDot are going to be invading Vale which means we will probably also be hitting WN sov eventually (though we aren't starting with them).

the DRF has pretty much all reset each other at this point, most of the fighting is between xDeath and SOLAR, but RA is getting hammered pretty good in the south too. If it heats up enough I wouldn't be suprised to see the CFC getting involved in some fashion (as the CFC as a whole is on fairly good terms with xDeath though not blue currently)

CFC = Clusterfuck coalition, lead by goons and includes a lethany of assorted pets of various sizes.
RA = Red Alliance, the mother of all the russian alliances even if it has been reformed like 5 times by now. Allied with WN, and fighting against -A- in the south.
NCdot = group of corps that banded together to kill the Northern Coalition, includes ex-bob, ex-TRI and many other rejects. Allied with TEST at the very least, unknown intentions regarding the neighbor WN.

CFC = the Clusterfuck Coalition - the name lovingly given by Goon and friends to Goon and friends. It represents the wider sphere of alliances aligned under the Goonswarm banner - e.g. Goons, TEST, FCON, Razor, etc.

RA = Red Alliance. One of the DRF alliances.

CFC = Clusterfuck Coalition which comprises Test Alliance Please Ignore, Test Friends Please Ignore, Goonswarm Federation, Fatal Ascension, Razor Alliance, Important Internet Spaceship League, Convicted, Executive Outcomes, Elite Space Guild, Tactical Narcotics Team, Fidelas Constans, Space Monkey's Alliance, Gentlemen's Agreement, Black-Mark, Get Off My Lawn, and probably one or two others that I can't remember. You can see why it's easier to call it CFC. TEST and Goons are the largest alliances in the coalition.

RA = Red Alliance, a mostly Southern based Russian alliance that has been around for over six years.
